Title:  MILLENNIUM FEVER HOGWASH!! [Reprint of an article originally published on this site in November, 1989]

Subtitle:  The more the Mass Media talks about MILLENNIUM Fever striking millions of Americans, especially the Religious Right, the more angry I become.  No Born Again Christian who is familiar with Bible prophecy and who takes their Bible literally is looking forward to that seemingly magic year, 2000 A.D.  We will explain who IS looking forward to next year, why the Mass Media is conditioning us about it, and what it means to you and me.

YOU ARE NOW ON

THE CUTTING EDGE

It seems to me that just about once a week, I hear another news story about the crazy fervor supposedly building up in religious communities concerning the coming Second Millennium, the year 2000 A.D.  More often than not, the "news" story states that the Religious Right is the primary force behind this undue attention being paid to the coming New Year, the year 2000.  In fact, many of the times, the news story mentions the Religious Right in the same type of theme as the obviously crazy wackos in Nowhere Land, back in the Bush Country.  I have said for over a decade now that the Mass Media, acting in concert with the New World Order leadership, is conditioning people to think very badly toward us, so that, at the right time in world history, the next, and the final, persecution of Christians can begin.  Certainly, this type of reporting fits this scenario.

THEY CANNOT BE TALKING ABOUT BIBLE BELIEVERS

No Born Again Christian who knows their Bible, and who takes it literally, is placing any significance whatsoever on the coming year 2000 A.D.  While we are very interested in the fact that End Times prophecy is being fulfilled all around us, and we can see the stage being set for the fulfillment of many others, we know that we can set no firm time.  Further, while we can know the return of Jesus Christ is close because of fulfilled prophecy and because the Holy Spirit is whispering in the ears of many Christians, we also know that Jesus told us point-blank we would not know the hour or the day when He returns.  We also know that a false messiah will appear on the world scene before Jesus Christ returns, and will deceive many; his name will be Antichrist.  The first person claiming to be Jesus Christ will be Antichrist.  In other words, the false Messiah must come before the True Messiah.  The first person claiming to be Messiah will be the false one; in fact, when Jesus Christ returns, He will make no claim to being Messiah other than His annihilation of the armies of Antichrist encircling Jerusalem, His seizure of Antichrist and the False Prophet, and His Omnipotent Power amply displayed.

We know all this from Scripture.

Let us review some of these pertinent Scriptures that tell us we cannot set a specific time on which to expect Jesus' return.

1)  We will not know the specific time -- "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." [Matthew 24:36]  Jesus had just given His disciples the many key signs by which they would know that the End of the Age was finally upon mankind, and then He told them they would not be allowed to know the specific time.

2)  However, while we would not know a precise date in which Jesus Christ would return, He did promise us that we would know the general season.  -- "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." [Matthew 24:32]

All throughout the New Testament eschatology, we see this theme presented.  While we will know the general time period of the Lord's return, we will not know any specific date, or even a specific year.  These verses are so well known amongst those Born Again Christians who are familiar with prophecy, no one gets excited about any mention of any specific time.  In fact, whenever we hear of a specific time being mentioned, we mark our calendars as the day that the Lord's return will NOT happen!  Once more, I reiterate, no Born Again Christian familiar with prophecy looks forward to any day, month, or year, including the year 2000 A.D!

Well, then, exactly who is getting excited about the possibility of Jesus Christ's return in the year 2000?  As I see it, only two groups of people are looking forward to this date for the return of Messiah.

1)  Those Christians who are ignorant of the Bible generally and Biblical prophecy specifically.  Ignorance is NOT bliss, and the Bible foretells that one of the signs of the End of the Age is a general ignorance of the Word of God.  These type Christians will be susceptible to lying "words of prophecy" being uttered now in Charismatic circles, and by cults.

2)  New Age adherents generally, and the New World Order Plan specifically, have been naming this date for the past 30 years as the time when their New Age Christ will appear!  Did you understand what I just said?  The very side on which the leaders of the Mass Media are on, is the side looking forward to the year 2000 A.D. as the time their messiah [Antichrist] will appear.

In fact, the demonic Guiding Spirits of human leaders all the way back to the mid-1700's were telling their human hosts that the North American colonies would be established as the New Atlantis, would lead the nations of the world into the New World Order, and that the New Age Christ would appear in the year 2000 A.D.!

Since 1975, when the House of Theosophy sponsored the movement called the New Age, and made it public, numerous books have mentioned the year 2000 A.D. as the target date by which The Christ would appear on the world scene, to lead mankind into 1,000 years of "Peace and Safety".  In fact, the latter months of 1999 are supposed to herald the signs of the coming of the New Age Christ, with spectacular "signs and wonders" that will prepare mankind for him.  Get ready for some spectacular lying signs and wonders that will lead astray over 90% of the world's population.  Once you see spectacular events in the heavens, and some more spectacular events on earth, get ready for the soon appearance of Antichrist.

WHY THE DELIBERATE CHARADE?

Now that we have debunked the popularized notion that Christians of the Religious Right are waiting with bated breath for the return of Jesus Christ in the year 2,000, and now that we know that the New World Order Plan calls for the appearance of The Christ [Antichrist] in that year, we have to ask the next obvious question:  why is the Mass Media whipping up such frenzy over the significance of the year 2000 and blaming the Religious Right ?  Why doesn't the Mass Media just admit that their side is the one looking forward to the appearance of their messiah in the year 2,0000 A.D.?

First, the Mass Media is continuing to set the Religious Right up for eventual persecution and mass imprisonment.  We hear news stories that the Federal Government "fears" massive riots as the year 2,000 draws nigh, and is making plans to "combat" them.  In fact, I have just heard from a very reliable personal source, a person in law enforcement, that the Marines are being told they are going to be trained specifically in city riot control, and will be prepared to go into the cities on a moment's notice, in the year 2000! When Government Provocateurs deliberately provoke city riots, the Religious Right and Gun Owners, will be blamed, giving the Government the excuse to move in, declare Martial Law, suspend our Constitutional Government, and take away our rights.  The people will be so frightened they will applaud such a move.  When you throw in the rest of the many planned crises [Read NEWS1214 for full details], on top of spectacular signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth, you will understand how excited and terrified people are going to be at this time.

Second, the Mass Media wants to plant firmly in people's minds that such signs and wonders will portend the soon arrival of a Messiah figure.  Even though they are placing the origination of such an idea in the wrong religious camp, they are placing the idea, nevertheless.  When people see the heavens light up with the "lying signs and wonders", people will have been conditioned to believe that such signs are foretelling the soon appearance of a messiah figure.  The Mass Media will then step in with its wall-to-wall coverage, just as Peter Lemesurier says they will do in his book, The Armageddon Script.  After this type of coverage has run its course, people will be more than ready for the appearance of Antichrist.  Their hearts will burn within them for his appearance.  They will literally be jumping out of their skin with rampant speculation, fueled by the Mass Media.  We cannot, at this time, be any more specific about these planned signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth.

Demonstrations and riots are likely to occur.  If the rest of the planned crises are occurring as well, then we could have tremendous pandemonium in most of the cities of the world.  Governments all over the globe will then have the excuse to clamp down on their citizenry, awaiting the appearance of Antichrist.

At this moment in world history, you must stay firm in your faith, if the Rapture of the Church has not yet occurred.  You must heed the Words of our Savior.  "Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God ..." [Revelation 3:11-12]

When you see the huge majority of the peoples of the world getting so excited, uptight, and emotionally wrought over the possibility that these many signs and wonders, and crises, foretell the appearance of a Messiah, you must not allow yourself to be taken in by all this hoopla.  No matter who steps forward at this time to proclaim that Messiah is about to appear, you cannot believe him or her.  In fact, whoever steps forward at this time to make this kind of religious proclamation will be revealing the truth about their ministry for all the discerning peoples of the world to see.  You will be shocked to discover which religious leaders of the day will reveal themselves as false, as they step to the microphone to declare that Messiah is about to appear.

REMOVING THE RESTRAINTS

But, you, the true Christian, and one who knows his or her Bible, will "hold fast" to the Word of God, and not be taken in by the false hoopla and pronouncements coming forth through newspapers, magazines, and TV.  When these false, lying signs and wonders, and crises, begin to occur, and when people begin to get worked up about the soon appearance of Messiah, please understand that these events could only occur because the Holy Spirit has withdrawn His restraining power to the point where Antichrist can arise soon.

In 2 Thessalonians 2, the Apostle Paul is speaking of the appearance of Antichrist.  After saying that Antichrist would like to appear in Paul's day, but is prohibited by the Holy Spirit, Paul tells us the conditions under which he will be allowed to appear.

"Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day [Antichrist appearing] will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the great predicted falling away of those who professed to be Christians has come] and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition)" [Verse 3; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary ]

"And now you know what is restraining him [from being revealed at this time]; it is so that he may be manifested [revealed] at his own appointed time. For the mystery of lawlessness ... is already at work in the world, [but it is] restrained only until he who restrains is taken out of the way." [Verses 6-7; Ibid.]

In the time period from the beginning of these lying signs and wonders, and the deliberately planned crises, until the time Antichrist arises, the restraint of the Holy Spirit against evil may be at an all-time historic low.  Therefore, if we Christians have not been taken out of this world yet in the Rapture, we need to be in much prayer for protection, as the Holy Spirit restraint against personal evil may be removed, or greatly reduced.

We also need to be very strong in our witness of the Biblical Truth at this time, since people will be greatly wondering about spiritual matters.  Even though we may be in great danger for speaking the Truth at this time, when people are so worked up, we must not be silent in pronouncing Biblical Truth about prophecy and about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Truly, God is never left without a witness in the world, and you will be that witness in your sphere of influence.

Truly, these events are exciting, and we stand on the very edge of time and eternityAre you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but have been very lukewarm in your spiritual walk with Him, you need to immediately ask Him for forgiveness and for renewal. He will instantly forgive you, and fill your heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Then, you need to begin a daily walk of prayer and personal Bible Study.

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, but have come to realize His reality and the approaching End of the Age, and want to accept His FREE Gift of Eternal Life, you can also do so now, in the privacy of your home. Once you accept Him as Savior, you are spiritually Born Again, and are as assured of Heaven as if you were already there. Then, you can rest assured that the Kingdom of Antichrist will not touch you spiritually.

If you would like to become Born Again, turn to our Salvation Page now.

We hope you have been blessed by this ministry, which seeks to educate and warn people, so that they can see the coming New World Order -- Kingdom of Antichrist -- in their daily news.
