The talk of impeaching President Bush has been a common one for a very long time now, essentially beginning during the Iraq invasion. Once the President's opponents realized that he had boldly lied to the public about Saddam Hussein having Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), discerning people all across the land began to call for either his resignation of his impeachment.

However, formidable obstacles remained in the path of either of these actions:

1) The President is an incumbent who does not have to stand re-election;

2) The President's part (Republicans) control both House and Senate and all committee chairs, as well as a majority of members on the committees. Therefore, President Bush should be able to squash any and all attempts to begin impeachment proceedings against President Bush.

3) Senator Frist and Representative DeLay are personal friends of President Bush and they occupied the top leadership positions in the Senate and House of Representative, respectively. Their power is immense and should give the President greater protection against even the hint of impeachment. However, Senator Frist is under investigation and Representative DeLay is under indictment for fraud. Thus, at a most inopportune time, the two linchpins of leadership support for each house of Congress have either been removed or weakened.

Despite all odds, it does appear that certain of the President's men are going to indicted on up to 22 criminal charges, with hints that the charges may reach all the way up to the President himself. Let us quickly review the details of this scandal so threatening to President Bush.

NEWS BRIEF: "THE COMING HURRICANE FITZGERALD...", OpEdNews.com, October 22, 2005

"There is a storm of historic proportions headed for the United States ... It's been building and gathering strength in the increasingly hot waters of the Special Counsel's office for almost two years, and in a matter of days it may lay waste to the entire political infrastructure of Washington, D.C., from one end to the other."

After laying the political groundwork for the coming indictment of White House officials, this author then lists the specific elements of this indictment. In the interest of time and space, we shall just list these specific points of indictment as bullets, rather than paragraph form.

Notice that this CIA case against the Bush Administration has its genesis in Iraq:

* "the crime of the century (so far) has taken place in Iraq. Lies and forged evidence duped the American people into waging preemptive war against a country that posed no threat to us ..."

* "... over 100,000 people have been senselessly murdered and maimed, including many thousands of our own service people. Hundreds of billions of dollars have been looted from the treasuries of two countries, mostly our own."

* "For them the treasonous acts of exposing (and thereby destroying) one of our most critical intelligence assets (a front company secretly working to prevent the spread of WMD), were just another day's collateral damage ... They ruthlessly smeared all critics, purging and intimidating any dissenting voices."

* "... he (Fitzgerald) requested from the Italian authorities the files on the forging of the Niger documents themselves. That was what Joe Wilson’s trip was all about. And why they were so compelled to 'out' his wife in the first place in their clumsy attempt to discredit him."

Do you remember the Niger Nuclear Scare that the President cooked up to further scare the American people into supporting his invasion of Iraq. According to the manufactured story line, documents from Niger "proved" that Saddam Hussein had tried to buy uranium from Africa. President Bush stated this lie during his State of the Union address, a most important stage from which to make this claim. He said:

"The British Government has learnt that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa”.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has said that documents that claim to show trade was taking place between Iraq and Niger were forgeries. Joseph Wilson was sent to Niger by the CIA last year to investigate British claims that Iraq had tried to purchase uranium. He concluded that there was no truth to the allegations.

In order to discredit Joe Wilson, the White House revealed the identity of undercover CIA agent, Valerie Plame. You see, Valerie Plame is married to Joe Wilson (Wikipedia Encyclopedia, "Valerie Plame"). Somehow, Bush Administration officials were convinced that, they could win the Public Relations battle with Joe Wilson over the Niger document issue by revealing the identity of his wife as an undercover CIA agent.

Now that we have examined the basics of the impending charges against these White House officials, let us now go to the key news story upon which the headline of this article was based; a Liberal Radio Talk Show Host claimed on the David Letterman Show that Rove and Libby might be executed for "treason", and if they were going to be executed, President Bush should share the same fate.

Before we get started on these comments made by Al Franken on the David Letterman Show, let us quickly examine the basis upon which Franken is saying that the charges against Rove, Libby and Bush are "Treasonous" and deserving, therefore, of "execution".

"... George H.W. Bush, the President's father, was the head of the CIA and he has said that outing a CIA agent is treason.”

This is the basis for saying that these men, if found guilty of the charges against them, would be guilty of "treason" -- Former President Bush said that revealing the identity of an undercover CIA agent is "treason". Isn't it ironic that these words by the Former President Bush should come back to haunt the current President Bush?

Now, let us get to the meat of this interview on the David Letterman Show:

"... what it looks like is going to happen is that Libby and Karl Rove are going to be 'executed' because 'outing a CIA agent is treason', left-wing author and radio talk show host Al Franken asserted Friday night, to audience laughter, on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman. Franken qualified his hard-edged satire: 'Yeah. And I don't know how I feel about it because I'm basically against the death penalty, but they are going to be executed it looks like'. Franken later suggested that President Bush is at risk of receiving the same punishment, since Karl Rove likely told him what he did, but he added a caveat: 'I think, by the way, that we should never ever, ever, ever execute a sitting President'."

Of course, Franken was going to the extreme to prove a point in calling for the "execution" of Rove, Libby and Bush, but the very fact he even used these words on a major nationally broadcast TV late-night show tells you all you need to know about the seriousness of these charges and of the strong position Independent Prosecutor Fitzgerald enjoys as he goes after the President and his men.

Letterman pursues this subject with Franken, so let us go to that pertinent quote:

"David Letterman: 'The feeling was that this report made the administration's decision to go to war look bad-”

"Al Franken: 'Right. So they wanted to smear the guy who came back with the report, and so they out his wife and said she sent him there. This is essentially, you know, George H.W. Bush, the President's father, was the head of the CIA and he has said that outing a CIA agent is treason'.”

Letterman: 'It is treason, yes.'

Franken: 'And so basically, what it looks like is going to happen is that Libby and Karl Rove are going to be executed'."

Paragraph I -- "A most startling development has occurred in the public debate over Iraq: the founder of a major Establishment daily newspaper has called for President Bush to withdraw all troops from Iraq "sooner rather than later".

Paragraph II -- "The Washington Post published a major article in which Bush Administration officials and the military under Bush's command, are guilty of War Crimes!" Supposedly, the International Red Cross is leading the effort to have President Bush and his key leaders indicted by the International Criminal Court.

NEWS2045 -- "Impeachment of President Bush"? "Downing Street Memo may bring great harm to the President, for this document states that Bush and Blair "fixed the facts" around their decision to invade Iraq, while a former Bush Chief Economic Adviser claims official story of the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers is "bogus" and could lead one to conclude the government itself attacked America.

As you can see, Cutting Edge has been warning for some time now that a determined effort seemed to be underway to discredit President Bush and bring him down.

If the President is brought into disrepute, his Right Wing, Evangelical Christians are going to be under the spotlight. Will their leadership carefully examine the evidence and reach a valid, meaningful conclusion and then urge their followers to do the same? Or, will Evangelical leaders opt for the simple knee-jerk reaction of decrying all accusations against President Bush and his men to be the work of nasty Liberal Democrats.

If Evangelical Christians choose the latter path, all genuine Christians will be set up for discrediting once the President is brought into disrepute. Is this the issue which will fulfill the following prophecies?

"... it shall be for a time, times, and a half a time [or three and one-half years]; and when they have made an end of shattering and crushing the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished." (Daniel 12:7; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

This Scripture will be fulfilled also:

"Then they were each given a long and flowing and festive white robe and told to rest and wait patiently a little while longer, until the number should be complete of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed as they themselves had been." (Revelation 6:11; Ibid.)

When Antichrist can crush the saints of God totally in the 7-year Tribulation Period, President George Bush's claims that his actions were directed by his Christian beliefs, his broad-based support throughout the world will come from the many un-Christian, un-Biblical actions Bush had taken after the attacks 9/11. The biggest action for which President Bush and all Christians shall come under condemnation by the world will be our great pollution of the entire Middle East with Depleted Uranium munitions (Read the articles in our Depleted Uranium Section)

Surely, the End of the Age is nearly upon us.

Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones?
