INTRODUCTION

Some months ago, Cutting Edge Ministries posted an alarming new article revealing how deceptive President Bush was in urging Public Schools to start teaching "Intelligent Design" alongside Evolution! Too many Christians were in danger of being mislead into believing that "Intelligent Design" is the same thing as Biblical Creationism. Of course, it is not the same thing, but is just the latest gimmick designed to deceive the undiscerning Christian at this End of the Age.

Let us quickly review the issue, quoting from our NEWS2061 "President Bush Deceiving Genuine Christians Again -- This Time, He Is Pushing For The Teaching of 'Intelligent Design' Alongside Evolution In Public Schools".

"Intelligent Design" is NOT Biblical, but his its original roots in 19th Century Deism; in the New Age Movement starting in the mid-1990's; and currently in pseudo science and mathematics which disbelieves both Darwinism and Biblical Creationism. Yet, undiscerning Christians are believing that 'Intelligent Design' is Christian! In fact, this concept is simply and only a refinement of a New Age belief which first began to be popularized in the mid-1990's! Did you know that?

The New Age Movement also spawned a very big lie in the mid-1990's when her authors suddenly began teaching a new version of creation. Instead of teaching Evolution, their authors suddenly began to acknowledge that a "design" was too evident in science and Nature to be ignored; therefore, since a design presupposes a "designer", New Age authors began to teach an "Interventionist Creation", where Aliens came to Earth many millions of years ago, created Earth as we see it here, including humans, and then left. The natural processes of Evolution and Natural Selection then completed the task of creating the world as we see it today, operating according to the scientific laws which the Aliens had originally set in motion.

Today, that New Age theory that super-intelligent Aliens intervened in world history at just the right time to create the world as we know it today has emerged with a new name and with pseudo-science and mathematics to make the concept believable; the term for this "new" theory is "Intelligent Design".

In NEWS2061, we quote from the Liberal secular magazine, The New Yorker. This author was under no illusion that Intelligent Design is either Christian or Biblical.

NEWS BRIEF: "MASTER PLANNED: Why intelligent design isn’t", by H. Allen Orr, The New Yorker, Issue of 2005-05-30

"In the past few years, college students across the country have formed Intelligent Design and Evolution Awareness chapters ... So just what is this movement? First of all, intelligent design is not what people often assume it is. For one thing, I.D. is not Biblical literalism. Unlike earlier generations of creationists ... proponents of intelligent design do not believe that the universe was created in six days, that Earth is ten thousand years old, or that the fossil record was deposited during Noah’s flood. Indeed, they shun the label “creationism” altogether." (Emphasis added)

This reality should be enough to persuade any Fundamental, Bible-believing Christian that Intelligent Design is not Scriptural and should, therefore, not be supported by any Christians.

Let us now return to this New Yorker article to gain even more insight.

"Nor does I.D. flatly reject evolution: adherents freely admit that some evolutionary change occurred during the history of life on Earth. Although the movement is loosely allied with, and heavily funded by, various conservative Christian groups—and although I.D. plainly maintains that life was created—it is generally silent about the identity of the creator." (Ibid.)

Did you catch the pertinent facts in this paragraph?

* "Nor does I.D. flatly reject evolution: adherents freely admit that some evolutionary change occurred..." The Bible rejects Evolution and ascribes all creation in specific moments of time to an Omniscient, Omnipotent God.

* "... it is generally silent about the identity of the creator" (Ibid.)

No Bible-believing Christian can remain silent about the identity of the Creator -- His Name is Jesus the Christ -- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God .... All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1, 3)

When a person refuses to identify the Creator, that person is opening a door which Satan will immediately walk through to create discord, distrust, and misinformation.

Now, this article gets very pointedly to the main argument of I.D.

"The movement’s main positive claim is that there are things in the world, most notably life, that cannot be accounted for by known natural causes and show features that, in any other context, we would attribute to intelligence. Living organisms are too complex to be explained by any natural—or, more precisely, by any mindless—process. Instead, the design inherent in organisms can be accounted for only by invoking a designer, and one who is very, very smart." (Ibid.)

While this concept places the movement into direct conflict with Darwinism, it still does not conform to Christian, Biblical doctrine, either. It is a middle "lukewarm" road -- neither Darwinism nor Christian.

NEWS BRIEF: "AiG’s views on the Intelligent Design Movement", by Carl Wieland, Answers In Genesis, 30 August 2002

Let us go immediately to that portion of Mr. Ham's dissertation where he points out that the Intelligent Design leaves open the possibility that Aliens created this world.

"The movement’s apparent refusal to identify the hypothetical designer with the Biblical God (some IDers have pointed out that the design work they postulate could even have been performed by aliens) is seen as a prudent necessity to keep the argument on philosophically ‘neutral’ ground, and thus avoid a lot of anti-Christian hostility."

This quote brings Intelligent Design arguments into full alignment with New Age teachings in the mid-1990s, as we noted, above! "Intelligent Design" as taught by the New Age is that Aliens intervened in earth's history at some point in time and "created" the human race. Thus, Dr. Dobson is bringing his listeners to the point where one day they might be brought to a similar belief.

Christians have agonized for decades that God and the Bible have been expelled from Public Schools, and are all too eager to embrace any concept which sounds Biblical in order to get "God" back into schools. "Intelligent Design" is that counterfeit creationism teaching, and Christians are just too gullible and anxious to see past its obvious flaws. Unfortunately, certain Christian leaders with huge followings are contributing to this deception in a mighty way.

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY PROMOTING "INTELLIGENT DESIGN"

Quite unfortunately, Dr. James Dobson's Focus on the Family is in the forefront of the organizations deliberately misleading the undiscerning Christian, on a variety of fronts, not the least of which is Evolution, Creationism, and now "Intelligent Design".

First of all, most Christians do not realize that Dr. Dobson has never taught Biblical Creationism! Rather, he promotes a syncretism between Evolution and Creationism!

Listen carefully to an article written by a pastor's wife, Marlo Schalesky, carried in Dobson's magazine, "Teachers In Focus", March, 1996 Issue, entitled, "How or Who?". We are in gratitude to Dr. Cathy Burns for saving this article and giving its contents to us now.

"Fossils seem to indicate that species have been changing for millions of years ... Who's to say how God made everything? Did He 'poof' it into existence? Or did He use some kind of evolutionary process, similar to the ones we studied in class? The Bible doesn't really say, one way or another."

Perhaps Dr. Dobson should read his Bible a little more carefully before he allows a writer in his magazine to state that "The Bible doesn't really say, one way or another."

The Bible says Jesus created the universe (John 1:1-4) and that He did so in 6 literal days (Genesis 1:1-31 - 2:2).

When Dr. Dobson teaches this combination of Evolution and Creationism, he is conditioning the Christian to accept the major premise of Evolution, and to set them up for believing the lie of "Intelligent Design".

With this as background, let us now examine the reality that Focus On The Family teaches and promotes the lie of Intelligent Design, thereby revealing once again their counterfeit Christian nature. As you read this material from Focus, be aware of the deceptive tactic used in discussing Intelligent Design. They argue between Evolution and Intelligent Design with no mention of Creationism. Since Christians have been fighting Evolution for decades, they are used to there only being two sides to the argument -- Evolution vs Creationism. Therefore, when Christian organizations like Focus On The Family present only two sides, Evolution vs Intelligent Design, they are encouraging the average Christian believer to think that Intelligent Design is identical with Creationism, which it most assuredly is NOT -- for all the reasons we have listed above.

NEWS BRIEF: "Score Two for Intelligent Design", by Aaron Atwood, assistant editor, Citizen Link, A Web Site of Focus On The Family, August 3, 2005

"President Bush's endorsement of teaching alternatives to evolution comes on the heels of an evolutionist retracting false statements she made against an intelligent design proponent. President Bush has come out in favor of teaching alternatives to evolution in public schools, telling reporters this week that students should learn about intelligent design—the scientific view that attributes creation to a creator."

Did you notice how this last sentence was worded? "... intelligent design—the scientific view that attributes creation to a creator."

"A creator".

Not Jesus Christ and not the God of the Bible -- but just "a creator".

This is standard New Age teaching -- but it is coming from Focus On The Family!

Furthermore, this entire Focus article speaks constantly of only two alternative views -- Evolution and Intelligent Design, leaving the Christian to the false belief that Intelligent Design is Creationism -- a very subtle but persuasive tactic.

NEWS BRIEF: "Doesn’t Intelligent Design refer to something supernatural?", by Mark Hartwig, Religion and Society Analyst for Focus on the Family, Citizen Link, A Web Site of Focus On The Family, May 20, 2003

Before we go any further, please note that, in this discussion by Mark Hartwig, of Intelligent Design, there is not one mention of "God" of "Jesus"! How can this be, coming from Focus On The Family!?

"From an ID perspective, the natural-vs.-supernatural distinction is irrelevant. The real contrast is not between natural laws and miracles, but between undirected natural causes and intelligent ones."

How can Bible believers swallow this nonsense? From the Biblical perspective, it is critically important to believe that God supernaturally created the universe and this world, exactly as the Bible said He did. What does the Bible say as to how God created this world?

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1)

Did you catch that? "God created".

This is supernatural intervention in world history, for the next verse tells us the condition of the earth when God intervened.

"And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep." (Genesis 1:2)

Now, we see how God supernaturally created this world.

"And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." (Genesis 1:3)

How did God create? "God said". He spoke the Word and the world sprang into existence! Yet, what does this writer say in the Focus On The Family, quoted above? Reread it now, for you will see that her statement is in complete contradiction to the clear Word of God! No, this writer in the Focus magazine says, "The Bible doesn't really say, one way or another."

What a huge lie! Sadly, many Christians will not know their Bible well enough to understand what kind of monstrous lie Focus On The Family is foisting on people.

Now, let us see how God SUPERNATURALLY created the rest of the world:

"And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." (Genesis 1:6)

"And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so."(Genesis 1:9)

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so." (Genesis 1:11)

"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years". (Genesis 1:14)

"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." (Genesis 1:20)

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so." (Genesis 1:24)

Then, God created the only part of the world in which He personally handled the creation instead of just speaking into existence. Yet, even with man, the process began with God speaking.

"And God said, Let us make man in our image." (Genesis 1:26)

Can you understand now how huge a lie Focus On The Family is promoting when they post an article like the one, above, which states that the Bible does not say how God created this world? Listen now as we return to this current Focus article, as it quotes a mathematician well known in Intelligent Design circles.

"Mathematician and philosopher of science William Dembski puts it this way: 'Whether an intelligent cause is located within or outside nature (i.e., is respectively natural or supernatural) is a separate question from whether an intelligent cause has operated." (Ibid.)

As you can see, this debate is being waged irrespective of any consideration of the Biblical proposition that a Person named "God" or "Jesus" actually created the world. Even though the word "supernatural" is mentioned, the thrust of this sentence is that an "intelligent cause" is the likely causative agent which caused this world to come into existence. One other consideration on the word, "supernatural". When a person uses this word, he may not be speaking of the God of the Bible. "Supernatural" only means a force outside the natural realm. When New Agers claim that alien beings intervened to create humans, these aliens are "supernatural". When Intelligent Design advocates admit that the creator may, indeed, be aliens, these aliens are also "supernatural".

It is high time for Christians to start being inquisitive and questioning and comparing what they are being told to the Bible -- in other words, to become Bereans, who checked the words of the Apostle Paul against Scripture to see if he was telling them the truth! If followers of Focus On The Family were to do this, they would not be so easily deceived.

Throughout the articles on "Intelligent Design" which turned up on the Focus On The Family Search Engine, the emphasis is on a "designer" or "creator", not on the God of the Bible or on Jesus Christ, Whom John identifies as being the Creator of the entire universe in John 1. The reader of all these Focus articles is left with the impression that a supernatural designer of some sort created this world, which comfortably aligns the Focus On The Family reader with New Age adherents who began believing this nonsense in the mid-1990's! In fact, some of the articles on Focus sound a lot like the arguments against believing the Bible literally that we are used to hearing from Darwinians!

Truly, the kind of spiritual deception foretold at the End of the Age is upon us. And, it is opening the door to Antichrist! Did you know that?

"Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition) ..." (2 Thessalonians 2:3; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

Every time a Christian leader deviates from Scripture, he is opening the door a little bit more through which Antichrist will one day stride. Given all the rank apostasy now occurring in every corner of Christendom, can Antichrist be far away? Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but have been very lukewarm in your spiritual walk with Him, you need to immediately ask Him for forgiveness and for renewal. He will instantly forgive you, and fill your heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Then, you need to begin a daily walk of prayer and personal Bible Study.

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, but have come to realize His reality and the approaching End of the Age, and want to accept His FREE Gift of Eternal Life, you can also do so now, in the privacy of your home. Once you accept Him as Savior, you are spiritually Born Again, and are as assured of Heaven as if you were already there. Then, you can rest assured that the Kingdom of Antichrist will not touch you spiritually.

If you would like to become Born Again, turn to our Salvation Page now.

We hope you have been blessed by this ministry, which seeks to educate and warn people, so that they can see the coming New World Order -- Kingdom of Antichrist -- in their daily news.

Finally, we would love to hear from you.

God bless you.
