Excellent Homeschooling resource! Both 'Webster's Blue-Backed Spelling Book' and 'New England Primer' were basic, required, foundational textbooks used in the schools of our Republic in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Unfortunately, they were eliminated as both textbooks and school curricula were systematically "dumbed down" These two textbooks further prove that America's Founding Fathers expected moral truths and Christian principles to be taught in every school subject
