Soil Contaminents Declared To Be In New Orleans Soil: Update From Subscriber In New Orleans Area
October 19, 2005
More interesting news from our area regarding New Orleans East
and St. Bernard Parish. This morning URBONO reports that suspected contaminants
in the soil in the stated areas have the potential to become airborne as the
soils dry out and could, conceivably, spread the contamination into New Orleans
proper. EPA is continuing its testing. One Parish official is suggesting it
may be 3-5 years before residents can return to the area. By then, of course,
area residents will have relocated elsewhere and moved on with their lives.
Who would return to a wasteland?
Is this latest development not just too pat for words? Was it not simply all
too predictable? The UN's Agenda 21 scheme seems to be unfolding right on schedule,
does it not?
