The Iraqi police say they were Muslim pilgrims on the way to the Shiite shrine city of Karbala. The hospital tending the wounded report they are contractors.

Sunday, Nov. 27, four Western aid workers were reported kidnapped in Baghdad Saturday. The only victim identified is a Briton, Norman Kember, 74. Seized with him were two Canadians and an American, who have not been identified.

There is no word on which organization the four kidnap victims represent or which organization carried out the abductions

Kember is described as a former secretary of the Baptist Peace Fellowship but no longer represents that group. His wife said he represents a number of different organizations.
