US Vice-President Dick Cheney says military action is possible to stop Iran acquiring nuclear weapons

Cheney was speaking at a joint news conference in Sydney with Austrian prime minister John Howard Saturday, Feb. 24. In an interview with The Weekend Australian, he endorsed the Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s proposition that the only thing worse than a military confrontation with Iran would be a nuclear-armed Iran.
The vice president said there are various estimates of the point of no return: “Is it when they possess weapons or does it come sooner, when they have mastered the technology but not yet produced fissile material for weapons?
