Who is He of whom such gracious words are spoken? He is THE GOOD SHEPHERD. Why doth He carry the lambs in His bosom? Because He hath a tender heart, and any weakness at once melts His heart. The sighs, the ignorance, the feebleness of the little ones of His flock draw forth His compassion. It is His office, as a faithful High Priest, to consider the weak. Besides, He purchased them with blood, they are His property: He must and will care for that which cost Him so dear. Then He is responsible for each lamb, bound by covenant engagements not to lose one. Moreover, they are all a part of His glory and reward.
But how may we understand the expression, "He will carry them"? Sometimes He carries them by not permitting them to endure much trial. Providence deals tenderly with them. Often they are "carried" by being filled with an unusual degree of love, so that they bear up and stand fast. Though their knowledge may not be deep, they have great sweetness in what they do know. Frequently He "carries" them by giving them a very simple faith, which takes the promise just as it stands, and believingly runs with every trouble straight to Jesus. The simplicity of their faith gives them an unusual degree of confidence, which carries them above the world.

I.
As Great Britain suffers her worst terrorist attack in history with the July
7 attacks in London, we have to consider the reality that this attack is the
British equivalent to America's 9/11 -- based upon a strong "Numeric
Occult Signature" on the event. Now that London has been
viciously attacked, Prime Minister Blair will undoubtedly have no trouble
getting his draconian anti-terrorism laws and his National ID Program -- both
of which are currently stalled -- fully enacted.
Let us begin this discussion by examining this "Numeric Occult Signature" and then examine the details of the attack itself.
This attack occurred on July 7, 2005. Since July is month number 7, and since the year, 2005, adds to a "7", this event carries a standard "Numeric Occult Signature" of either "77" (11x7) if you count just the month and the day and/or "777" (111 x 7). Further, if you add "7+7+7", you get "21", another important sacred occult number.
Our new readers may not understand that the world has already been reorganized into 10 Super Economic Nations, thereby fulfilling part of the End of the Age prophecy of Daniel 7:7-8 and Revelation 17. The leaders of these 10 nations are all members of the pagan secret society known as the Masters of the Illuminati; the most important and powerful of pagan world leaders today is our Skull & Bones President, George W. Bush. All current leaders of the world are members of pagan secret societies known generally as "Illuminati".
For those of you who do not realize that the pagan Illuminati believes that numbers contain inherent spiritual power, we encourage you to stop to read a couple of our earlier articles on this most important subject - NEWS1478; NEWS1756.
The most venerated occult numbers are: 6, 11, 13, and multiples thereof, especially 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, etc. and 26, 39. A triplication of numbers is also considered sacred to the occultist: 111, 222, 333, etc, because triple is the number of the Pagan Trinity, as we note above.
Once you understand how the pagan leadership believes that a good plan may fail unless it is carried out "by the numbers", you will understand that we can examine an event to see if the numbers by which the event was carried out form a "numeric occult signature". Within a few hours on 9/11/2001, we saw a series of "11" and "111" under girding the entire event. Since "11" is the Illuminati number for their coming Masonic Christ (Antichrist), and since "111" is an intensification of "11" to the number of the Pagan Trinity (Satan, Antichrist, and False Prophet), we correctly concluded that the 9/11 attacks were fulfillment of the published occult plan to carry out terrorism in our cities, but especially in New York City. We noted that the attacks of 9/11 contained 18 separate usages of "11", plus some instances of "111" -- NEWS1756.
Therefore, we look for such "numeric signature" in a major event to see if the pagan Illuminati could be behind it. As stated above, the attacks in London form an occult numeric signature of "777", which is "111 x 7"). As soon as I heard of the attacks, I looked at the calendar, and noted immediately that the date formed a "777" -- a numeric Illuminati signature.
However, these attacks also possess other occult considerations, which are currently developing and shall publish in a new article on Monday. Watch for this article, because the other occult considerations, both numeric and historic, are startling, and very revealing. Occultists throughout the world will look at these considerations and will correctly conclude that this attack was just one more contrived incident designed to drive the world into the New World Order -- just as was the attacks of 9/11.
The very fact that this type of terrorist attack was carried out, carrying a strong occult Illuminati signature, should tell you that this Global Plan to force the world into a global government, economy, and religion so that the Masonic Christ can appear, is continuing on its preplanned course. Cutting Edge has always taught that the Global Plan to produce Antichrist calls for terror attacks in cities in all major countries in the world where its people are still electing their leaders. Europe, Japan, Australia, all have reason to expect terrorist attacks on their soil.
In NEWS2053, we reveal that President Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Sharon are operating according to a specific timetable by which events must be concluded. Therefore, we can only conclude that all major events are operating according to the same timetable. The fact that this event occurred on a date which formed an obvious numeric occult signature gives credence to the reality that key leaders of this world are operating on a timetable.

NEWS BRIEF: "Four bombs in 50 minutes - Britain suffers its worst-ever terror attack", The Guardian (London), July 8, 2005
"At least 38 people were killed yesterday and more than 700 injured as terrorists struck at the heart of London, causing the biggest loss of life in a terrorist attack on mainland Britain. In a series of coordinated strikes, explosive devices were detonated on three underground trains and a bus traveling through central London during the morning rush hour ... Vincent Cannistraro, the former head of the CIA's counter-terrorism centre, told The Guardian that "two unexploded bombs" were recovered as well as 'mechanical timing devices'. Emergency services rushed to east, west and central London as the bombs went off in sequence and without warning over a 50-minute period.
* "The first device exploded at 8.51am on a Circle line train between Aldgate East and Liverpool Street stations. Seven people were killed." (NOTE: BBC News reports that the first device exploded at 8:49 -- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4659331.stm )
* "At 8.56am a second device exploded on a train between King's Cross and Russell Square, killing 21 people."
* "At 9.17am there was another blast on a train at Edgware Road station which blew a hole through a wall into another train on an adjoining platform. Two other trains were affected and seven people were killed."
* "At 9.47am a fourth blast blew the top off a doubledecker bus in Tavistock Square, central London, possibly killing more than a dozen people."
Other reports indicted that at least six bomb blasts occurred ("London Terror Attack Photo Gallery", Picture "Chaos", #4 of 11)
Authorities lost no time proclaiming these coordinated attacks the work of Al-Qaeda.
"Intelligence and anti-terrorist officials said last night there was little doubt that a group affiliated to or inspired by al-Qaida had carried out the attacks." (The Guardian, Ibid.)
Prime Minister Tony Blair immediately threw the blame on the shoulders of the Islamic terrorist network.
"Tony Blair last night praised the 'stoicism and resilience' of Londoners in the face of yesterday's onslaught on the capital's transport system by bombers he implied were Islamist terrorists. 'We know these people act in the name of Islam but we also know the vast and overwhelming majority of Muslims here and abroad are decent and law-abiding people who abhor this act of terrorism', he said in a televised statement from Downing Street." (Ibid.)
British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw also chimed in, repeating the Islamic connection storyline.
"Last night Jack Straw, the foreign secretary underlined this when he told a TV interview: 'There's an assumption that this is an al-Qaida-based organisation. It has the hallmarks of an al-Qaida-based organisation and also its ruthlessness ... In the afternoon ... the top-level emergency group - an Islamist website posted a statement claiming the attacks had been carried out by a European cell of al-Qaida. A body calling itself the Secret Organisation of the al-Qaida Jihad in Europe said the attacks were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in US-led operations."
Within days after the 9/11 attacks in America, the slogan appeared, "United We Stand". President Bush repeatedly urged Americans to unite in allowing him to react in a united front to these attacks, including allowing Congress to draft dictatorial legislation -- Patriot Acts I and II -- which gave the President as much tyrannical power as Russia's Josef Stalin exercised.
A similar theme was sounded in Great Britain.
"Ken Livingstone, London's mayor ... said: 'This was not a terrorist attack against the mighty and the powerful. It was not aimed at presidents or prime ministers. It was aimed at ordinary, working-class Londoners, black and white, Muslim and Christian, Hindu and Jew, young and old. It was an indiscriminate attempt to slaughter, irrespective of any considerations for age, for class, for religion, or whatever' ... He added: 'That isn't an ideology, it isn't even a perverted faith - it is just an indiscriminate attempt at mass murder and we know what the objective is. They seek to divide Londoners. They seek to turn Londoners against each other'." (Ibid.)
Once Londoners do unite, they will likely be expected to "unite" behind Blair's efforts to pass a National ID program and the same type of draconian anti-terrorism laws which Congress dutifully passed in the aftermath of 9/11. Both these programs are stalled in Parliament right now, prompting some to predict that an attack on Great Britain would be necessary.
One news report stated that the bombs were set off by suicide attackers.

"The bombing attacks on London’s Underground railway and a double-decker bus Thursday, July 7, were the work of a team of 6-8 terrorists wearing explosive vests. This is the first conclusion drawn by DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s terror experts from the type and strength of the explosives used and they way the bombers, in three out of the four attacks, were able to deliberately spread the damage to secondary vehicles outside their primary targets ... The bombs were not large, smaller than the ones that were planted on the Madrid trains in March 2004, because they had to be worn on the terrorists’ bodies without arousing suspicion."
These explosions were probably caused by Islamic terrorists, just as Islamic men were on board the planes on 9/11, but their ultimate handlers were leaders of the worldwide Illuminati, not Osama bin Laden or any other supposed top Islamic leader.
One of the more interesting tidbits of information to come to light after this terrible attack was that British Intelligence had actually lowered the level of threat just a month before the attackers struck.
NEWS BRIEF: "MI5 downgrades terror threat to UK businesses", FT.com, June 7, 2005
"The security service, MI5, has advised British businesses that the threat from international terrorism in the UK is lower than at any time since the September 11 terror attacks on the US ... the terrorist threat has been downgraded from its second highest level 'severe general' to a lower category of 'substantial' ... However, UK security experts insist more detailed intelligence messages still coming through leave no room for complacency. Paul Eskrit, a security adviser to the Corporation of London, said alert levels remained high in the City and around certain government buildings up until the general election amid fears the event might spark of a major terrorist attack as occurred in March last year in Spain. 'The downgrading does not offer a great deal of comfort . . . I for one am not going to advise that we relax our security systems', he said."
One month later, to the day, these suicide terrorists struck and struck hard. Will this scenario give rise to the "Intelligence Failure" syndrome which has been so overworked in the United States since 9/11?
III.
An agency of the Federal Government has admitted that Depleted Uranium IS
a dangerous substance!

"Anti-depleted uranium (DU) activists, who have been fighting for more than a year to prevent the renewal of a special 'hazmat' exemption for the deadly substance, scored a big win recently when the Department of Transportation (DOT) announced its intent to let the special exemption lapse. The exemption permits the movement of highly toxic, radioactive DU on the highways without a DOT 'radioactive' warning placard being displayed on the secret shipments."
Let us stop for a moment to fully comprehend what we have just learned. Even as the Pentagon (Department of Defense - DOD) is publicly claiming that Depleted Uranium poses no discernable risk whatsoever, a companion Federal department (Department of Transportation - DOT) is planning to start placing a "Radioactive" warning placard whenever they are shipping Depleted Uranium product within the United States!
Therefore, the Pentagon must know what the Department of Transportation has just admitted -- Depleted Uranium is a radioactive substance so harmful to human beings that DOT transport trucks will now be displaying "Radioactive" placards when shipping D.U. metal within the country. However, D.U. being shipped in rods is not nearly as dangerous as it is to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to the civilians living in those countries? Why is this the case?
Our troops in the battlefield countries of Iraq and Afghanistan are being exposed daily to D.U. which has hit a hard target, and has been turned into fine dust. This radioactive dust then enters the lungs and/or the skin of our soldiers and of civilians, where it begins to emit radioactivity within the body, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This type of exposure is far, far more deadly than a transportation worker coming into contact with the rods as they are being transported.
Yet, while the DOT is going to place a "Radioactive" placard on D.U. shipments, the DOD (The Pentagon) is still telling its troops and the American people that there is no danger whatsoever to aereolized Depleted Uranium!

The fact that the government now agrees with anti-DU activists is a major step in validating the belief that DU is behind a number of unexplained illnesses affecting U.S. soldiers and civilians in and around battlefields and a series of birth defects afflicting their offspring. The poisonous DU ammunition has been used in the ongoing Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Shipments of the material occur daily throughout America, on the highways, railways and waterways." (Ibid.)
The one question regarding the safety of Depleted Uranium which must be asked of any skeptic or defender is this: By what act of ritual magic does the Pentagon take a substance recognized by private industry as being so lethally dangerous that anyone handling it must be fully protected, and turn it into harmless dust when exploded on a battlefield?
Since there is no logical explanation to this question, the conversation is usually ended!
Once more, we need to return to this featured article, for it reveals some more very important information:

As we revealed in NEWS2051, overwhelming numbers of sick American soldiers are beginning to hit Veteran's Administration hospitals and other medical facilities. Two years of soldiers fighting with D.U. weaponry is about the right length of time for very large numbers of soldiers to become sick. The only question is, how well are Federal Government hospitals going to treat these soldiers? If they continue the Pentagon lie that D.U. poses no problem, V.A. doctors cannot be making medical evaluations that these soldiers are dying of D.U. poisoning. Does this mean that V.A. doctors are going to continue the cover up, giving false evaluations to these poor soldiers? I fear this is going to be the case.
Now, let us turn to another news source which provides information on the radioactive dangers of Depleted Uranium from another angle:

The gray structures are unremarkable except for what is loaded inside: Each contains roughly 13 tons of high-level nuclear waste that has been accumulating at the plant since the Eisenhower administration. With nowhere to go, the waste will most likely remain in place for decades. Dresden's reactors have produced one of the largest stockpiles -- 1,347 tons -- of civilian nuclear waste in the nation. With the plant churning out nearly 48 tons more waste each year, engineers are preparing to double the size of the outdoor storage pad this summer."
That is a lot of waste to be safely disposed of by one nuclear power reactor. Since "spent (depleted) uranium" remains lethally radioactive for 4.5 billion years, generations of Americans after us will have to grapple with, and spend money on, this waste problem.
"The plant has the same problem as nearly all of the nation's 103 commercial reactors: They were never designed to store waste long-term and are forced to deal with large quantities of spent uranium fuel rods that produce high levels of radiation." (Ibid.)
Did you catch that revelation? This "spent (depleted) uranium" fuel rods are dangerous simply because they continue to "produce high levels of radiation." We have had emails chastising us for our concern, because the name "depleted" implies that there is no longer any radiation in this spent fuel. That is most definitely not the case! Depleted Uranium retains between 30-40% of the original radioactivity of the uranium ore; it is called "spent" or "depleted" uranium only because the equipment private industry uses cannot extract any more from the rods. As our first article demonstrates, this stuff is still lethally dangerous!
Now, let us return to this featured news article:
"The problem reflects decades of miscalculations and missteps by the federal government, which promised at the dawn of the nuclear age to accept ownership of the waste ... As a result, the most lethal waste product of industrial society is being handled outside any federal policy and without any plan for how it will be managed in the future ... The deep storage pools used to keep nuclear waste are filling up at most plants. Utilities have turned to outdoor storage in dry casks as the de facto standard for dealing with waste. It is a stopgap measure that has averted a shutdown in the nuclear power industry. But it means leaving all of the roughly 50,000 tons of civilian nuclear waste spread across the nation for the next half-century or more. This is quite the problem! Right now, 50,000 tons of "civilian nuclear waste" is spread around the nations in various types of sites, some underground and some right out in the open. What is private industry to do? The Pentagon rides to the rescue! If private industry either gives this depleted uranium away, or if it charges a nominal fee, America's military establishment will take this stuff away to turn it into weapons, thus releasing private industry of the expense and hassle of paying daily fees for its storage and handling -- for the next 4.5 billion years.
This scenario is exactly what is occurring, and our precious soldiers are paying a high, high price.
According to a retired Admiral of the Indian Navy, our military had expended at least 2,000 to 3,000 tons of Depleted Uranium munitions in Iraq alone as of February 29, 2004, when he posted his scientific paper (NEWS1907). That is barely a dent in the 50,000 tons of "civilian nuclear waste"!
IV. As the Israeli government drew closer to the beginning of Unilateral Withdrawal, and as the settlers who will be his victims stiffen and perfect their resistance, Israeli propagandists reached deeply into their bag to pull out the dreaded "assassination" card!
NEWS BRIEF: "Israeli president fears Sharon assassination", The Boston Globe, July 4, 2005
"JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli President Moshe Katsav said on Monday the vocal opposition of pro-settler rabbis to Israel's Gaza pullout could incite ultranationalists to try to assassinate Prime Minister Ariel Sharon ... 'In the struggle over the disengagement someone is likely to distort the rabbis' messages', Katsav told Army Radio. The result, he said, could be 'extremist actions' and 'the distorted conclusion that to prevent Israel's destruction, one must assassinate the prime minister'."
When I was sneaked into the House of Theosophy seminar on August 18, 1991 (NEWS1052), I learned of the depth of contempt and loathing which the Illuminati has toward the Orthodox Jew. They literally want to destroy this religious movement and have planned its demise through a plan of action entitled, "The New Jerusalem Covenant Project". Listen to pertinent segments of this Plan to destroy the religious movement.
"Thus, when the three religious conferences and the three political/business conferences are simultaneously held, a grand merger of all forces will occur world-wide that will move the world in any desired direction. Then, and only then, will it be possible to build a combination Temple/Church/Mosque in Jerusalem. Any purely political settlement in the Middle East would not, by itself, bring peace. Therefore, the Illuminati has constructed "The New Jerusalem Covenant Project" plan in such a manner as to ultimately cause the demise of the Orthodox Jews in Israel. As I stated, above, I learned of this project and the planned demise of the Orthodox Jew in 1991; in 1992-1993, the "The New Jerusalem Covenant Project" was introduced to the world as "The Oslo Peace Accords". As we reveal in NEWS1911, the original Oslo Accords envisioned giving large tracts of Israel to the Palestinians so they could establish their state, while Israel withdrew to "more defensible" borders.
The Oslo Accord - New Jerusalem Covenant Project seems to be a ploy to destroy both the Palestinians (NEWS1422) and the power and influence of the Orthodox Jew in Israel. Therefore, is it a stretch of the imagination to believe that, as the Unilateral Withdrawal portion of the Oslo Accords starts to begin, a concerted effort would be made to permanently discredit Orthodox Jewry?
And, what better way to accomplish this goal than to convince people that some of the Orthodox "extremists" are a physical danger to Sharon and his deputies?
After all, the Press, working in conjunction with the Israeli Government, convinced the vast majority of Israelis that an "extremist" pulled the trigger which killed Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Despite the brilliant investigative work done by Barry Chamish ("Who Killed Yitzhak Rabin"), a very high percentage believe the improbable government lie.
Therefore, what better way to scare the settlers into compliance on the one hand, while discrediting the Orthodox Jews on the other, than to warn of an assassination possibility against Sharon and his ministers? After all, if Sharon or one of his deputies is killed, the public will soon forget that the shooter was an Orthodox "extremist"; they will turn to blame the entire religious movement. Such is the broad brush of the propagandist.
Now, let us return to this featured news story:
"The Shin Bet security service on Sunday measured Sharon and members of his cabinet for bulletproof vests, a sign of increasing fears of violence against Israeli leaders ahead of the pullout due to begin in mid-August. In recent weeks, some pro-settler rabbis have sharpened their rhetoric against the withdrawal from land they see as a biblical birthright, condemning it as a violation of Jewish law and a danger to Israel's existence." (Ibid.)
To counter this propaganda, anti-disengagement leadership has taken action:
"Jewish settler leaders have called for passive resistance to the planned evacuation of the settlements. Hoping to sharpen that message, right-wing legislator Effi Eitam said on Israel Radio he planned to meet rabbis and settlers to draft a charter of non-violence to avoid clashes with Israeli soldiers during the pullout. 'In this charter we will have a clause specifying there cannot be any (settler) weapons in the evacuation area. We are trying to ensure that even if the atmosphere heats up there will be a good chance of preventing a disaster', Eitam said. Israeli security officials have said they plan to collect the army-issued weapons carried by many of the 8,500 settlers facing evacuation." (Ibid.)
Later in this article, the reader was told that "ultra-nationalist" Jews attempted to lynch a Palestinian teenage boy. Listen to the official facts:
"Last week, ultranationalists threw rocks at Israeli soldiers who evicted them from an abandoned house they had seized in a Palestinian neighborhood adjoining a Jewish settlement bloc in the Gaza Strip. During the violence, radical Jews stoned a Palestinian youth in what an Israeli general described as an attempted lynching. 'A Palestinian boy was lying there wounded and they were throwing rocks at him while an Israeli soldier tried to protect him. We cannot tolerate such sights. It violates the Ten Commandments', Katsav said. An 18-year-old Jewish settler suspected of being a ringleader in the stoning was remanded at a Beersheba court. Police wear looking for two other suspects."
After official outrage ran its course, Israel National News ran an article which throws some interesting light on this subject of the government attempt to discredit Orthodoxy. It turns out the whole affair may have been staged!

The eyewitness said told Arutz-7: 'Suddenly a gang of about 30 Arabs started smashing us with rocks. I ran away and hid behind an army jeep. Suddenly, this Arab youth--the one who everyone claims was 'mortally wounded'--came around from behind me and threw this big concrete block right towards my head. He almost killed me'!"
"Another eyewitness to the fight stated, 'The Arabs were the ones who started throwing rocks, just like they've known how to do for the last 20 years. The media people who were there knew that this boy, the one who was 'mortally wounded,' came up to us and threw rocks. And so we threw back. It's interesting how someone who is critically wounded gets up on his legs and laughs with his friends and gets interviewed while he's critically wounded', she added."
"Honenu, an organization providing legal assistance for those accused during anti-disengagement protests, is taking measures to fight the current anti-activist climate. Under the current public atmosphere', said one Honenu official, 'with the media continually referring to the incident as a 'lynching' and with politicians calling forcefully for the police to 'mete out justice to the lynchers' and the like, we fear that the three suspects will be sacrificed unjustly. We are coordinating and gathering all the testimony that shows the whole incident was staged and blown out of all proportion." (Ibid.)
Discerning Israeli citizens are well aware that their government regularly infiltrates "government provocateurs" into an organization in order to stage an incident which will discredit the entire movement! As both sides in this Unilateral Disengagement battle harden their positions and wait for the day after the "9th of Av" celebration so the withdrawal can begin, many are waiting and watching to see whether government provocateurs will spring into action.
Before we leave this subject, let us examine the Arab "victim" who was nearly lynched.
"The filmed victim, Hilal Ziad Al-Majaydeh, said in an interview that he did not remember being attacked by an 18-year-old civilian. Al-Majaydeh claims he sustained his injuries during an altercation with an IDF soldier." (Ibid.)
Isn't it interesting that the victim cannot substantiate the basic facts of the case? But, the propagandist knows he does not need to worry too much about getting his facts straight, for the vast majority of the people will believe what their government, military, and intelligence leaders tell them. We know from painful experience, don't we, for that has been the sorry fact since 9/11/2001.
V. As opposition to Prime Minister Sharon's planned diplomatic collapse with Egypt on the Gaza Border grew to white-hot proportions, the Israeli Attorney General abruptly told the Knesset that their opposition made no difference whatsoever -- they were deemed irrelevant. Government arrogance has reached new heights.

"In the middle of last week ... prime minister Ariel Sharon’s emissaries quietly wound up negotiations on a military protocol with Egypt. This protocol, under challenge now by Israeli lawmakers, formally provides for the deployment of 750 Egyptian border police along the southern Gaza Philadelphi border route to enable the withdrawal of Israeli troops and civilians from the Gaza Strip. But, according to DEBKAfile’s military sources, the tacit part of the deal offers Cairo much more than a military foothold along this 14-km border strip. Against the recommendations of the Israeli high command and military intelligence AMAN, the Sharon government has agreed to Egypt’s deployment of commando troops, APCS equipped with night-vision equipment and helicopters along the entire border. Moreover, the Egyptian navy will be allowed to use the northern Sinai Mediterranean port of El Arish as a naval base for warships."
Can you believe what the old "hero" IDF general Sharon is allowing the Egyptians to do? He is allowing them to move their most elite commando units, complete with their equipment, right up to the Egypt/Gaza Border! After the 1973 Yom Kippur War, Israeli military strategy recognized the need for a large buffer area between perennially hostile Egypt and Israel -- the Sinai Peninsula fit the bill nicely. If Egypt ever again attacked Israel conventionally, her armed forces would have to cross the Sinai, where Israel would gain enough warning to muster her reserves for her defense.
But, this Sharon plan will allow Egypt's elite forces to come right up to the Gaza border. Furthermore, since the Palestinians will control the Gaza Strip, they just might invite these elite Egyptian forces inside Gaza, which means Israeli cities and towns will be under more sophisticated guns than the Palestinians can muster. How can former General Sharon allow this to occur? This nightmare scenario is NOT what conservative Israelis voted for when they elected Sharon to replace the "Liberal" Ehud Barak. So much for meaningless "Liberal" versus "Conservative" labels!
Some Knesset lawmakers learned of Sharon's compromise giveaway to Egypt and jumped quickly to legally block it. Israeli Attorney General rode to Sharon's defense.
NEWS BRIEF: "Mazuz Decides: Knesset Irrelevant in Egyptian Treaty Changes", Israel National News, July 7, 2005
"Attorney General Mazuz informed the Knesset today that it need not be consulted on the proposed change to the peace treaty with Egypt. The government may therefore allow Egypt to deploy soldiers in the Sinai. a key component of Prime Minister Sharon's proposed withdrawal from Gaza is the matter of control of the Egypt-Gaza border. Terrorists have dug hundreds of tunnels in the area, through which they have smuggled thousands of weapons and rocket launchers from Egypt into Gaza. Israel refuses to leave the Palestinian Authority in control of the area, and the Sharon government does not want to retain control itself. This leaves only Egypt."
In Sharon's view, it must seem better to give perennially hostile Egypt control of this strategic border than to give control to the toothless Palestinians! Oh, well, on the way to absurdity, common sense seldom prevails.
The basic problem is that Sharon's proposed giveaway of the Gaza Border to Egypt is illegal!
"Likud MK Yuval Shteinitz, Chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, has long warned that Egypt's designs on Israel are far from friendly. He further feels that as the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty of 1978 forbids Egyptian troops from deploying in the Sinai, no such soldiers may be invited to the Sinai without the Knesset's approval. Shteinitz was supported in this position by the committee's legal counsel, Miri Frankel-Shorr, as well as an 8-2 committee vote on the matter two months ago." (Ibid.)
This legal requirement to consult the Knesset on a matter of such grave national significance seems like a similar requirement for the President of the United States to consult with the Senate on certain matters, but especially on foreign treaties. However, just as American presidents have been arrogantly disregarding this requirement, the Sharon government arrogantly disregarded the Knesset. Listen:
"Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, however, rejected this approach, and said today - just as Sharon had hoped - that Knesset approval for the change is not necessary. "The new arrangement [along the Egypt-Gaza border] is not in the category of an international treaty of special importance', Mazuz stated in his opinion, and is not a "material change in the peace treaty." (Ibid.)
I wonder how much "special importance" this change of the treaty allowing Egyptian soldiers to the Gaza border will seem to the Attorney General if he is hunkered down in a bunker, dodging Egyptian bullets and mortar fire? If this matter of allowing your deadly enemy to move his best troops and equipment right up to your border is not considered "of special importance", what other matter could possibly be considered "important"?
Therefore, Israel continues to do everything in her power to convince Arab leadership that her territory is now indefensible. The immediate future is going to prove mightily interesting.
VI. What is the purpose of the American-built and operated huge military base in Israel? Barry Chamish seems to think this base is designed to hold up to 18,000 anti-disengagement protestors, but I am not so sure.

Then we reach the checkpoint at the border of the Green Line. The base stops precisely there, the border the Americans have planned for us. We turn into the dirt road to the left and start following the circumference of the base. The base is enormous, far huger than any other base in the country. We estimate that several tens of billions of dollars are going into the base itself but the new road surrounding the complex currently being blasted out of the rock has to add another billion dollars to the pricetag."
