The slant of this bill is most interesting: rather than giving the government power to shut down websites because of political content, this bill pretends to be concerned about Copyright Infringement!

"On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved a bill that would give the Attorney General the right to shut down websites with a court order if copyright infringement is deemed 'central to the activity' of the site — regardless if the website has actually committed a crime. The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) is among the most draconian laws ever considered to combat digital piracy, and contains what some have called the 'nuclear option', which would essentially allow the Attorney General to turn suspected websites 'off'.”
Since when is the Federal Government interested in combating Copyright Infringement? Congress changed the law recently to allow Goggle and YouTube to post copyrighted videos in their entirety with no fear whatsoever of being prosecuted. Goggle spends a lot of corporate money in supporting election campaigns. In fact, Google donated $800,000 to Obama's Presidential campaign!
Yes, Goggle is the world's #1 infringer of Copyright Laws!
No, this bill has nothing to do with protecting the rights of Copyright holders. But, this bill does provide government censorship over any website which is considered "dissident" or "anti-government".
Since we are heading for the greatest Absolute Dictatorship in world history, and since we can see steps in this direction in our Daily News, we must consider this bill in the same light. If the government openly attempts to establish "censorship", tens of millions of Americans could be openly irate; but, if the government claims that it shut down a website because it was found to be violating Copyright Laws, most citizens would not complain, even if they suspected censorship.

II. The TSA announces it is scaling back its invasive body searches.
NEWS BRIEF: "TSA Chief Shifts Position; Says Screenings Will Be Minimally Invasive", Fox News, November 21, 2010
"WASHINGTON -- The head of the agency responsible for airport security, facing protests from travelers and pressure from the White House, appeared to give ground Sunday on his position that there would be no change in policies regarding invasive passenger screening procedures. Transportation Security Administration head John Pistole said in a statement that the agency would work to make screening methods 'as minimally invasive as possible', although he gave no indication that screening changes were imminent."
Lest anyone has forgotten how "high" the official terror alert still is, Pistole reminds us.
"The statement came just hours after Pistole, in a TV interview, said that while the full-body scans and pat-downs could be intrusive and uncomfortable, the high threat level required their use."
Why is the terror alert so high? We have not suffered any kind of a major terror attack since 9/11/2001. The only "attacks" have been ones in which the bomber failed -- the underwear bomber, the shoe bomber and the Manhattan bomber.
Of course, all these failed bombers presented the government the excuse to add more layers of restrictions, which was the whole idea, of course. Yet, even though we have suffered no major terrorist attack in nine years, the "threat" remains "high".
This next news article verifies what we have been saying all along. i.e., dictatorships must tightly control travel.

We wholeheartedly concur. We have been issuing this type of warning since the days immediately following the attacks of 9/11, and repeatedly since then. The physically invasive searches are coming at a time when women have raised the issue of the criminality of touching them in sexually explicit ways, thus making these TSA procedures shocking indeed.
