I. The vital Israeli - American relationship may be headed for the worst crisis in the modern era!

Israeli announcement of a major increase in Jewish settlement plans during the time of V.P. Biden's visit humiliated the United States, prompting a very harsh American response.

"Israel and the United States are in a 'crisis of historic proportions' over a settlement dispute that has brought relations to a 35-year low, Israel's ambassador to Washington was quoted on Monday as saying. 'Israel's ties with the United States are in their worst crisis since 1975 ... a crisis of historic proportions', the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted Oren as telling other Israeli diplomats in a telephone briefing over the weekend."

"The remarks ... appeared to refer to U.S. pressure in 1975 for an Israeli redeployment in the Egyptian Sinai, occupied by Israel since the 1967 war and the site of renewed fighting in 1973."

Bilderberg President, Gerald Ford, was President in 1975, and he ruthlessly and shamelessly pressured Israel to give up the Sinai which she captured from Egypt during the horrific 1973 war, a war which Israel almost lost. Many Conservative and/or Christian people believed that Israel should have kept control of the Sinai as a buffer against any future Egyptian attack. But, of course, that advice was not heeded, so Israel faces the Egyptian military might right on the border of the Gaza Strip.

"An Israeli plan to build 1,600 more homes for Jews in West Bank land annexed to Jerusalem was announced during a visit by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden aimed at ushering in indirect peace negotiations with the Palestinians."

"Beginning as a spat over a single housing project, a dispute this week between the Obama administration and Israel has ballooned into the biggest U.S.-Israeli clash in 20 years, adding to months of strain between Washington and one of its closest allies. Israel's decision to move ahead with 1,600 new housing units in East Jerusalem, announced during a visit by Vice President Joe Biden, drew criticism from Washington in language rarely directed at even Iran or North Korea."

"Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Israel's announcement 'was an insult to the United States'. In a 45-minute telephone call Friday to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Clinton upbraided him and demanded that he take more steps to show his nation's commitment to peace ... A senior U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity in the midst of the diplomatic friction, described the administration's objection to the project as 'the first time the U.S. has really pushed back hard'."

Prime Minister Netanyahu was said to be stunned by the harshness of the American objection.

"The Israeli government, stunned and perplexed by the U.S. assault, tried to regroup this weekend. Netanyahu convened seven members of his Cabinet on Saturday to consider their response, and his office said a committee would investigate the timing of the housing announcement ... The U.S. goal is to win Israeli agreement to back off the housing project and to forgo announcements of additional Jewish construction in East Jerusalem, officials said. The administration also wants Israel to agree to discuss substantive issues in new peace talks that could begin in coming days, U.S. officials said."

"U.S. officials hope that the Israeli concessions might enlist support for the talks from the Palestinians and Arab states, which have been wavering since the Israeli announcement Tuesday inflamed Arab opinion."

As Cutting Edge has stated before, the Israeli government has been using the issue of the Jewish settlements as her front vanguard of defense against having to make major concessions regarding Jerusalem and control of the Jewish Holy Places. As long as Israel can keep the diplomatic wrangling focused on the settlements, the longer she can put off having to fight to keep Jerusalem under Israeli control.

While Israel has already given up control of Old Jerusalem to the United Nations (NEWS2410), she is loath to even enter negotiations concerning the rest of Jerusalem. But, the announcement of the Palestinian State cannot occur until concessions are made to the Palestinians regarding the status of Jerusalem and its holy places.

This strategy has prompted the Palestinians to become increasingly obsessed with Jerusalem. We are rapidly coming to the place where Jerusalem shall become the "stumbling block" of which Zechariah 12 spoke 2,500 years ago.

"Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup or bowl of reeling to all the peoples round about, and in the siege against Jerusalem will there also be a siege against and upon Judah. And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all peoples; all who lift it or burden themselves with it shall be sorely wounded. And all the nations of the earth shall come and gather together against it. In that day, says the Lord, I will smite every horse of the armies that contend against Jerusalem with terror and panic and his rider with madness; and I will open My eyes and regard with favor the house of Judah and will smite every horse of the opposing nations with blindness." II. Can you believe the Catholic Heart Association and 'Catholics United' both support Obama's Health Care bill?

This Catholic support may prove crucial to gaining the support of rank-and-file members in support of Obama's Fascist Health Care Bill.

"As a House vote on the Senate health bill nears, the Catholic Health Association threw its support behind the legislation with a strong statement over the weekend. The CHA, which represents hundreds of Catholic hospitals around the country, noted, 'We expect to see charges and counter charges about what is in the bill and how it will work', in a surprising acknowledgement of some misinformation that has circulated in some Catholic circles recently."

The Vatican has always maintained such a strict anti-abortion stance that it colored its entire perception of the Socialist/Fascist Health Care Bill. The American Conference of Bishops backed the Vatican completely on this issue, so it seemed a foregone conclusion that Roman Catholic opposition to Obamacare would be firm and formidable.

However, that all changed when the Catholic Health Association announced its support for the President's Plan. However, another major Catholic organization announced its support.

"The bishops are also feeling some heat from the group Catholics United, which has charged that USCCB staff are circulating false information about the Senate bill, and has rallied its members to lobby the USCCB (US Conference of Catholic Bishops ) to drop its opposition to health reform. More than 5,000 Catholics emailed the bishops conference in 72 hours--a drop in the bucket compared to the numbers a group like the Christian Coalition could muster in its heyday, but a significant message of dissent directed to the bishops from lay Catholics."

Now, Democrats can take their case directly to American Catholics, claiming that individual church members should support this Health Care Plan because two major Catholic institutions now support the President. This development is major.

III. The coming and the prophesied One-World Church was on display yesterday when the Pope spoke at a Lutheran Church!

Pope Benedict XVI spoke glowingly about the newly-found unity between Catholics and Lutherans -- another "Sign of the Times".

Pope Benedict told Rome's Lutheran congregation on Sunday that Protestants and Roman Catholics should be thankful for all the unity achieved among Christians rather than complain about the slow pace of dialogue. Addressing about 350 Lutherans in their small church, Benedict said both sides had accused each other of slowing down the ecumenical movement, but that only God, not humans, could create true unity. The movement has brought Christian churches closer together in recent decades but has lost momentum lately."

Whenever the Roman Catholic Pope seeks to unite with the Protestant Church, they trot out Jesus' statement to His Father during the last hours of His life, praying that His followers achieve and maintain "unity". Catholics have always maintained that this unity can only be achieved if people unite based upon what they agree, ignoring all doctrine of belief upon which they disagree.

But, that was NOT the unity for which Jesus so fervently prayed. To understand this Truth, let us examine the verses which Unity promoters repeat almost endlessly.

"That they all may be one, just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me." (John 17:21; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

"I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united..." (John 17:23a; Ibid.)

Unity promoters who are working to unite all world's religions continually use this Scripture to bolster their contention that Jesus wanted His followers to unite into one body and that the only way to achieve this goal is to ignore all doctrine which divides and concentrate instead only on the doctrines on which everyone can agree. If anyone holds a belief contrary to the Roman Catholic, that person is expected to drop that belief, that doctrine.

The result of this kind of "stinkin' thinkin' " over the past 30 years is that Protestant Churches no longer stand for any real Christianity; Mainline Churches, especially, are leading the drive to join with Rome.

However, this is not the unity for which Jesus prayed. Our Lord and Savior prayed for unity based upon His Truth.

"Sanctify them, purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy by the Truth; Your Word is Truth." (John 17:17; Ibid)

"And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth." (John 17:19; Ibid)

Jesus was praying that His people be kept united, but only on the basis of Truth, which is the essence of our Lord and Savior, and of His Holy Bible. We were never expected to join a church based upon compromise. Yet, that is the mantra of today's Christian world. This sad reality is the heart and soul of the Luciferian drive to a One World Church who will be controlled by the False Prophet.
