I. Friends and foe alike agree: Romney won last night's debate handily.

One commentator remarked that the President seemed "diffident and tired".

"Mitt Romney won this first debate, judging by style, by his ability to get the message out, and by substance ... The Republican echo-chamber is likely to cheer loudly and their enthusiasm will tick up. Democrats will mutter about why Obama didn't mention Romney's "47 percent" gaffe, and campaign outsiders will mumble about the campaign's alleged insularity and arrogance."

Other commentators noted the same fact, Barack Obama seemed to be lacking in style and enthusiasm. He kept his head down too much of the time and appeared to be "enduring" the debate rather than trying to win it.

"He (Romney) proved himself, yet again ... to be a strong competitor in full command of his brief, and importantly, he was able to articulate a consistent message that differed from that of the president's. On almost every question, Romney found a way to fold in the premise that Obama's over-reliance on government had hurt the middle class, and that Obama has done nothing to give anyone any reason to believe his next four years will be any different."

Why did Obama come across so badly?

"... fundamentally, when it comes to domestic policy, Obama just doesn't have a very good affirmative argument to make. That's a consequence of being a crisis president of a country where, as some are now saying, the old dismal is the new normal. "

That is quite a phrase: "the old dismal is the new normal". It reminds me of the question Ronald Reagan posed at the very end of his first debate with incumbent President Jimmy Carter in 1980. As he was given his last opportunity to say something to the America, Reagan looked directly into the camera and asked, "Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?"

That question threw President Carter into the dustbin of history.

The President's behavior has caused some to wonder if he is really trying to win re-election. Ann Coulter delivered a most interesting quote after the debate.

Normally, this type of question would be considered nonsense, but do you remember Obama's remarks in June, 2011, that he would not mind being a "one-term President"? Let us review:

Is President Obama going to be a one-term President?

He apparently is considering the idea!

NEWS BRIEF: "Barack Obama: there are days when I say one term is enough ", The Telegraph (London), 14 June 2011

"He said first lady Michelle Obama would be the first to encourage him to do something 'a little less stressful' if she no longer believed in what his administration was doing ... There were, he conceded, days when he thought 'one term was enough', but 'if the family is doing well and Michelle is putting up with me I've got enough energy to do the work I am doing'. "

With her husband facing a difficult re-election in November 2012 thanks to the poor economy, Mrs Obama has recently begun extolling his 'tireless' work rate ... "

If the President is at the point where he publicly pronounces his feeling that 'one term might was enough', that is a very significant event and one we should not ignore. "

Did Barack Obama deliberately lose this debate? We shall never know, but his comment in June, 2011, that he would not mind being a one-term President is most interesting and revealing, don't you think?

Obama supporter Chris Matthews of MSNBC was truly upset over the President's performance.

" 'I don't know what he was doing out there. He had his head down, he was enduring the debate rather than fighting it. Romney, on the other hand, came in with a campaign. He had a plan, he was going to dominate the time, he was going to be aggressive, he was going to push the moderator around, which he did effectively, he was going to relish the evening, enjoying it', Matthews said."

It is very possible that Mitt Romney looks more Presidential than Barack Hussein Obama. Just as Ronald Reagan looked far more Presidential than either Jimmy Carter or Walter Mondale, so Romney make look the part on TV much more effectively than Obama. In a debate, the candidates are standing in close proximity, thus making it easy to visually compare the two men.

Chris Matthews is a fervent supporter of Obama so when he says Romney won the debate, that is significant.

"He was like, 'Oh an hour and half? I think I can get through this thing. And I don't even look at this guy.' Whereas Romney -- I love the split-screen -- staring at Obama, addressing him like prey. He did it just right. 'I'm coming at an incumbent. I got to beat him. You've got to beat the champ and I'm going to beat him tonight. And I don't care what this guy, the moderator, whatever he thinks he is because I'm going to ignore him," Matthews said.

"What was Romney doing?" Matthews asked. "He was winning."

Polls showed that Romney had won, big. Even Liberal polls show a Romney win last night.

NEWS BRIEF: "Romney Won First Debate, 67 Percent of Voters Say in CNN Poll", San Francisco Chronicle, October 4, 2012

"Sixty-seven percent of those surveyed said Romney fared better, compared with 25 percent for Obama ... "

That is a significant debate win: 67% to 25%. Now, the only question is whether this debate win will translate into a poll win in the next few days.\

NEWS BRIEF: "Zogby: Clear Romney victory", Washington Examiner, October 3, 2012, 10:56pm

"Democratic-leaning pollster John Zogby declared GOP challenger Mitt Romney the winner over President Obama in the first presidential debate Wednesday night. 'Mitt won big tonight. Obama got digs in on lack of details but Romney came out to play hard', Zogby tweeted in comments echoed by many analysts. 'We've got a horserace', said CNN analyst David Gergen."

"Zogby later told Secrets, 'Romney was aggressive but not mean. He was substantive and articulate, and very clear. He was in charge all night; Obama was forced on the defensive and seemed to stammer at times. Romney got to explain his positions and principles all in one performance. He showed a mastery of the economy, of taxes, of health care -- and was comfortable, presidential, and even likable. He was personal and human. We haven't seen any of that before'."

Zogby made a very significant statement here: "He was personal and human".

Mitt has always come across as cold and calculating, not personal and human. If he can appear personable from this moment onward, pundits can convince the American people that Romney won, at least in a small part, because he finally opened up and allowed the voters to see the real flesh-and-blood man.

II. Syria and Turkey seem close to war!

Is Turkey going to be the NATO military force to knock President Assad down? In Libya, France was that NATO military power.

In Libya, France was the NATO member who was called upon to lead the military intervention. Over a period of some weeks, that intervention caused dictator Gaddafi to fall. Western air power enabled the weak rebel forces to prevail

But, Syria has a much more formidable military force. Obviously, a NATO member was needed whose military could defeat Syria and who was geographically located on Syria's border. That nation is Turkey. I find it very interesting that an ardently Islamic leadership would be willing to do the bidding of the Western powers as they seek to overthrow all resistant dictators in the region so they can establish Supernation #7 of the Club of Rome plan.

The flames of war are, indeed, raging throughout the entire "Non-Integrating Region" -- shown above. But, an inferno might be set off in Syria.

Israel's military forces are at a high level of readiness. Will prophecy against Syria be fulfilled as President Assad is going down? Listen:

Such a destruction would prove how very close to the End of the Age the world truly is right now.
