$200,000 IN GAY MONEY FOR BUSH, REPUBLICANS!

Log Cabin Republicans

April 24, 2002

"On the heels of launching a gay press print ad campaign supporting President Bush's leadership, LCR also launched its 2002 election campaign efforts at the national convention last week, netting over $60,000 in "hard money" contributions for Republican candidates in November. At a black tie event at Union Station in Washington, LCR raised $50,000 for its federal PAC, dedicated to backing House and Senate Republican candidates in the fall. The previous night, LCR's national leaders added some grass-roots fundraising to their agenda as LCR/DC hosted a reception which raised $12,000 for D.C. Councilmember David Catania (R), topping a total of $20,000 raised for the openly gay GOPer's re-election bid so far this year.

All told, that's almost $200K in gay money for Republicans, and that's something to celebrate."
