During the daily press briefing at US Central Command forward headquarters in Qatar, a journalist for a Malaysian newspaper asked a US Army Central Command spokesman to comment on rumors that an Israeli military expert was attached to the US Army as an advisor, and that Israel was supplying the US with weapons support and technology.

The spokesman denied that any Israelis were present at the headquarters, or that Israelis were advising Central Command.

"Israel is a close ally of the US. Their traditional relationship is with our European command, and that relationship is continuing. I am not aware that we are using any Israeli equipment on the battlefield or receiving any support from them," said the spokesman.
