World Grapples With Terror Threat

Various parts of world brace for al Qaeda terror: In Britain, 14 people detained Tuesday in London, Cambridge, Birmingham and West Midlands suspected of plotting attacks and links to “international terror.” In Riyadh, US warned citizens against venturing into Western compounds at night where hostile surveillance sighted.

In Kenya, Nairobi Hilton and Stanley Hotels are under imminent threat. Two banks evacuated Tuesday in bomb scare. US, British, French and Israeli embassies in Kenya capital warned, some evacuated. Italy is on high terror alert as are France and Germany

The Sharon region north of Tel Aviv on high alert for Palestinian suicide terrorists Wednesday morning – from Netanya to Beit Shean. Main highway closed for several hours, police roadblocks held up heavy traffic on routes abutting on West Bank. In November 25 Palestinian suicide attacks thwarted.

Massive bomb discovered Tuesday near Tulkarm on West Bank side of Israeli border and destroyed by IDF in controlled explosion. The bomb was in bag ready to carry into Israel for suicide attack.
