I. New Jersey is copying Adolf Hitler's successful tactic in paying citizens to inform on other citizens who carry their guns. Since the most dangerous enemy any citizen can have is its own government, it is ludicrous to turn your gun in to government authorities! NEWS BRIEF: "New Jersey Will Pay You $1000 To Destroy The 2nd Amendment", Alt-Market.com, 8 January 2012 The mayor of the city of Newark, New Jersey, Mr. Booker, is offering citizens a cash reward of $1,000 if they provide a tip to police -- it can be anonymous -- that they have seen a person carrying an "illegal gun". (View Video) The mayor is adamant that this action is needed in order to get guns off the street so gun violence can continue its downward slide. What is wrong with this picture? Several facts are really wrong so let us stop right here to examine the fallacies of the mayor's program. 1) Gun violence in Newark is steadily declining; yet, the mayor is convinced that, if he can get all guns away from law-abiding citizens, he can further reduce gun violence. 2) Studies have consistently shown that gun violence in a city rapidly declines whenever citizens are allowed to carry guns. John R. Lott, Jr., states in his book, "More Guns, Less Crime", that "it is true that areas with the highest crime rates are the ones that ... adopt the most stringent gun-control laws". (page 22) 3) The Newark mayor is obviously oblivious to the reality that no citizen who reports another person for carrying a gun can know if that person is legally authorized to carry that gun. Since New Jersey is a "Concealed Carry" state, citizens can be carrying a gun legally; yet, a citizen eager to get that $1,000 reward cannot know if the gun he sees being carried is legal or illegal. Therefore, the program is going to set police upon law-abiding citizens who are carrying their gun legally. But, of course, since America is sliding into a dictatorship, police all over this country are going to start harassing law-abiding citizens on a wide variety of issues, beginning with carrying guns. I wonder if the Newark Mayor understands that he is advocating a program which Adolf Hitler carried out in 1938? Let us review some facts about Hitler, Gun Control, and the Nazi dictatorship. * "The 1938 Nazi Weapons Law that disarmed, enslaved & murdered ... is alive and well in the United States, and is called, "The Gun Control act of 1968", and is enforced by the modern day gestapo, known as the "Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms (BATF)." "... who unjustifiably nevertheless keeps his weapon...must be regarded as an enemy of the national government." Adolf started promising German citizens greater safety if they would just turn their guns over to authorities!
The necessary laws to turn America into an Absolute Dictatorship started to be passed immediately after the attacks of 9/11. Patriot Acts I and II, along with dozens of other laws, take away all our freedoms and rights. The government is poised to turn America into a Martial Law state in less than 72 hours. Tebow's firm faith is having an impact on other people and for that we give God the glory! This story even has a profound implication for politicians today. NEWS BRIEF: "Tebow-Mania Proves Americans Long for Simple Moral Leadership—Take Heed, Barack", Canada Free Press, January 9, 2012 "Euphoria bordering upon madness is expressed for Timothy Richard Tebow ... why is Tim Tebow so immensely popular? Let’s assume America’s majority Christian population is so starved for some show of principled leadership that they felt an instant affinity for the rugged, virtuous and humble evangelical." "Tim Tebow is the current, and highly controversial, starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. He’s known for his very public professions of his Christian faith in addition to heroic comebacks from seemingly impossible late-game deficits. He lacks some polish but has intangibles that everyone now acknowledges—some belatedly—true leadership under fire." At this point, this author spells out what characteristics Tim Tebow possesses that not only make him successful, but which many others crave with their whole heart. They are: "Kindness; work-ethic; humility; charitable labors; generosity, easy-going nature; refusal to take slights personally; piety; encouragement of others never to give up; purity; cheerfulness; physical courage; mental strength under pressure; refusal to blame others; ability to take unpopular stands; faithfulness; belief in others; ability to develop a vision; forthrightness; defense of the less fortunate; generosity of spirit; communication and speaking ability; sharing credit in victory with others; refusal to back down from danger." God has evidently given Tebow a national and an international stage on which he is playing with these Christian characteristics, and God is blessing him. I have avidly followed football since I watched the 1958 championship game between the Baltimore Colts and the New York Giants - a game which many call the greatest game ever played. It certainly was the game which elevated professional football into the American dream. When Tim Tebow came out of college, I believed -- along with many -- that he did not possess the skills necessary to compete at the National Football League level. Classic drop-back pocket passers rule the game because such quarterback play has proven superior to a running quarterback. It truly IS remarkable that Tebow is running and winning, passing only a few times in a game. Tebow's firm reliance upon Jesus is causing other Christian athletes to begin coming public with their beliefs. Consider the story of Big Ben Roethlisberger, the star quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben noted after the Steelers lost to Tebow and the Denver Broncos, that he, too, was a Christian who was coming back to his faith. Let us review a story on this subject. NEWS BRIEF: "God’s quarterbacks: What Tebow and Roethlisberger reveal about evangelical politics", The Washington Post, January 5, 2012 "The political world is once again buzzing about evangelical Christians ... If you really want to understand evangelicals in America today, fix your eyes on Mile High Stadium in Denver this Sunday afternoon, when the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers will meet in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs. The game will feature two star quarterbacks whose contrasting stories — one of zeal, one of redemption — reveal more about the nature, power and persistence of American evangelicalism than a caucus or primary ever could." The first story is about Tim Tebow, with whom you probably are already well-versed. Therefore, let us launch into the lesser-known story of Ben Roethlisberger, a star quarterback with a Christian heritage who lost his moral compass once he stepped onto the national stage as a star NFL quarterback. "... lost amid this season’s Tebow obsession has been an even more compelling tale: the deepening evangelical faith of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The last time Roethlisberger’s off-field actions and attitude came under scrutiny was in early 2010, when sexual assault allegations surfaced in Georgia around the two-time Super Bowl winner. Although no charges were filed, he was suspended for four games under the NFL’s personal conduct policy ... many saw Roethlisberger as arrogant, a boor — anything but a man of faith. Pictures from the night he was prowling the bars in Georgia showed him wearing a T-shirt with a demon’s face on it. "Fans around the country — including many in Pittsburgh — demanded that Roethlisberger be canned, understandably so in the wake of those stories. But the Steelers kept him. They did so not only because a franchise quarterback is hard to find, but also in part because they knew the man he was when they drafted him — one who 'Tebowed' before games, back when Tebowing was still known as 'praying'. They knew that he came from a strong family and that he had lost his way." Has Big Ben returned all the way to Jesus and to an upright Christian life? "By the middle of 2010, he began returning to the evangelical culture of his youth — listening again to Christian artists he liked as a kid, reaching out to leaders for spiritual guidance. He joined Christ Church at Grove Farm, an evangelical church in suburban Pittsburgh. He mingled with parishioners. He dumped his entourage. His family moved in from Ohio and held him accountable for his surname. Last summer, he quietly married Ashley Harlan, who comes from a Pittsburgh family that a local pastor declared to be 'one of the finest Christian families I’ve ever met in my life'." Many Bible scholars have noted that God is never left without a witness in the world. Today, as America is sliding down the slippery moral tube into the Abyss, God seems to be raising up witnesses to His glory and to His power on the national and international stage. To Him be the glory. Returning one more time to this featured article. "Tebow and Roethlisberger point to the essential aspects of evangelicalism, the ones that make it persist — its missionary, proclamatory character on the one hand, and its private, searching piety on the other. The former wants to appeal to the whole world, which is why Tebow’s family raised him not only to preach, but to persuade others with a winning demeanor. The latter wants a changed life; Roethlisberger, in evangelical parlance, rededicated his life to Jesus after a period of backsliding, because he knew no other way to break his pattern of misbehavior. " Politicians have noted that this appeal of Christian values attracts many, many voters. "In Iowa, Santorum’s evangelical 'surge' grossed him about 30,000 votes. That may constitute an evangelical moment ... Plenty of politicians attempt Tebow-like appeals; remember Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s bravado about his faith? (Perry even compared himself to Tebow at one point this fall.) That is what most people think of when they think of evangelicals and politics — a parading American moralism that uses Jesus as a rallying cry." "But what makes Tebow loved by his coaches and teammates is that it isn’t just talk. It is an authentic personal piety that can build qualities essential for football success: courage, coolness under pressure, leadership, servanthood. And that is what unites him and Roethlisberger." What is the warning to President Obama and his followers in all this furor? Politicians who only use their supposed Christian faith to garner votes in an election, only to abandon them once in office, need to be put on notice that huge numbers of American people still long for the plain Tim Tebow type of Christian and are willing to follow that man to the ends of the world. Yep, God is never left without a witness. What is your witness to the people in your life?
III. Is President Obama leading an attack on America's Christianity? Speaking about President Obama's values while in office, let us consider this next news story. NEWS BRIEF: "Has Obama Waged A War On Religion?", National Public Radio, January 8, 2012 "Americans' religious liberties are under attack — or at least that's what some conservatives say ... If you're looking for evidence that the Obama administration is hostile to faith, conservatives say, the new health care law is Exhibit A. The law requires employers to offer health care plans that cover contraceptives. Churches don't have to, but religiously affiliated charities, hospitals and colleges do. That doesn't sit well with the Catholic monks at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. " 'When the government said to them, you're going to have to fund contraception, sterilization, in violation of your deeply held religious convictions, the monks at Belmont Abbey College knew that they just couldn't do that', says attorney Hannah Smith at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty." "The college sued in federal court last November." "Religious conservatives see an escalating war with the Obama White House. One Catholic bishop called it "the most secularist administration in history ... " We agree. The United States of America is rapidly falling away from its former Christian cultural roots, as this next story illustrates quite well. President Obama is simply our present leader at this End of the Age, when prophecy foretells of such a falling away. Consider the facts about President Barack Obama. * "In 1952, President Truman established one day a year as a "National Day of Prayer." * "In 1988, President Reagan designated the First Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer." * "In June 2007, (then) Presidential Candidate Barack Obama declared that the USA 'Was no longer a Christian nation'." * "This year President Obama canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse of 'not wanting to offend anyone'." This email ends with a fervent plea to defeat Barack Obama for reelection, or America is doomed. I do not want Obama in the White House for another four years. But, the answer is NOT to elect a Mormon as President, for that religion is counterfeit Christianity. The answer is NOT to elect another Skull & Bones person to office, as Presidents Bush were. The answer is NOT to be found in our present system of election which is bought and paid for by the Illuminati. The entire system is corrupt and worthless. Furthermore, this entire meaningless election system is supported by an equally corrupt Mass Media, which is owned by the Illuminati. The answer is NOT for Conservative Christians to blindly support Republican candidates or for Liberals to support Democrat candidates; we have long taught that there is no essential bedrock difference between Republican and Democrat parties, as leaders of both parties are equally committed to the New World Order -- the Kingdom of Antichrist. What is the answer? Americans must pray for a nation-wide outpouring of the Holy Spirit that we saw in Jonathan Edward's church in 1741. As Edwards preached his sermon, "Sinners In The Hands of An Angry God", the Holy Spirit fell in such a powerful manner that men and women suddenly left their pew and went to their knees in intense prayer. At first, they were overwhelmed by their sinfulness and their lost condition before an Almighty, Pure God; but, then the Spirit revealed to them the precious FREE gift of eternal life through Jesus' substitutionary sacrifice on the cross. And, they were gloriously saved and wonderously filled with the Spirit. This Holy Spirit revival continued through the American Colonies for nearly 50 years. Christian values and attitudes permeated the growth of the American nation, ensuring that our cultural foundation was built upon Christian principles. Even our political Masonic Founding Fathers took note and began attending church and quoting Scripture. Baptists gave America the Bill of Rights and Christian values permeated much of the political dialogue in America through the end of the century. If America is to be saved from certain Divine Judgment, we must first pray for a Holy Spirit revival. Listen to the Word of God on national revival.
Salvation comes from no action or will of man, but only from God. Any national revival must be started by an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. For this we must pray fervently.
Christians who trust in our participation in the political process to turn this nation back to Jesus Christ are going to be very disappointed, very discouraged, and very defeated. We must turn back to the "old paths" which God has foreordained that we should walk in them. A Holy Spirit outpouring is our only hope of returning America to Jesus Christ. IV. The Two Mormon candidates captured 56% of the votes in the New Hampshire Republican Presidential primary! Might 2012 be the "Year of the Mormon"? NEWS BRIEF: "Mitt Romney sails to victory in New Hampshire primary; Ron Paul clinches second place", The Boston Globe, January 11, 2012 "MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A week after his whisker-thin Iowa victory failed to quiet doubts about his candidacy, Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary by a decisive margin tonight and vaulted closer to the Republican nomination ... With 92 percent of precincts reporting, Romney led with 39.3 percent of the votes, compared with 22.9 percent for Paul, 16.9 percent for Jon Huntsman, and 9.4 percent for Newt Gingrich. Rick Santorum also garnered 9.3 percent, while Rick Perry had less than 1 percent." The big news of the night was that Mitt Romney decisively won the New Hampshire Republican primary yesterday; but the "really biggest" news is that the two Mormon candidates captured a staggering 56% of the vote! This vote total screams that the question as to whether the Christian evangelical voter would support a Mormon for President has been decisively decided in favor of Mormonism. The propaganda efforts of Bob Jones III (Bob Jones University), Joel Osteen, Pat Robertson, Franklin Graham, and Rick Warren, and many others to persuade genuine Christians that they could support a Mormon has been successful. For the first time ever, genuine Christians who love the Lord but who are ignorant of the details of Mormonism are going to violate clear Biblical Commands by voting for either Romney or Huntsman for President/ Why are Christians Biblically forbidden to support a Mormon for public office? Mormonism is as false a religion as is Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Roman Catholicism. And, the following Scripture forbids any Christian from giving any kind of support or encouragement to a member of a false religion. "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." May we have grace today, in the remembrance of this text, to bless the Lord for ships broken at Ezion-geber, as well as for vessels freighted with temporal blessings; let us not envy the more successful, nor murmur at our losses as though we were singularly and specially tried. Like Jehoshaphat, we may be precious in the Lord's sight, although our schemes end in disappointment. The secret cause of Jehoshaphat's loss is well worthy of notice, for it is the root of very much of the suffering of the Lord's people; it was his alliance with a sinful family, his fellowship with sinners. In 2Chron. 20:37, we are told that the Lord sent a prophet to declare, "Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the Lord hath broken thy works." This was a fatherly chastisement, which appears to have been blest to him; for in the verse which succeeds our morning's text we find him refusing to allow his servants to sail in the same vessels with those of the wicked king. Would to God that Jehoshaphat's experience might be a warning to the rest of the Lord's people, to avoid being unequally yoked together with unbelievers! A life of misery is usually the lot of those who are united in marriage, or in any other way of their own choosing, with the men of the world. O for such love to Jesus that, like Him, we may be holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners; for if it be not so with us, we may expect to hear it often said, "The Lord hath broken thy works."
