NEWS BRIEF: "Why Judiasm Rejected Homosexuality", by Dennis Prager, Whistleblower Magazine, July, 2002.

"When Judiasm demanded that all sexual activity be channeled into marriage it changed the world. It is not overstated to say that the Torah's prohibition of non-marital sex made the creation of Western civilization possible. Societies that did not place boundaries around sexuality were stymied in their development. The subsequent dominance of the Western world can largely be attributed to the sexual revolution initiated by Judiasm, and later carried forward by Christianity. The revolution consisted of forcing the sexual genie back into the marital bottle. It ensured that sex no longer dominated society, heightened male-female love and sexuality and thereby almost alone created the possibility of love and eroticism within marriage, and began the arduous task of elevating the status of women."

This statement is positively terrific, and powerful! It is rare these days to hear such an excellent defense of the Biblical mandate of heterosexual sex within marriage. While this author does not even mention the Bible by name, he does admit -- and seemingly admire -- the superiority of God's ancient paths relating to sex, marriage, and the family. Let us now take the various aspects mentioned in this paragraph, and discuss them, first in brief outline and then in detail.

First, God commanded that all sexual activity be channeled through marriage.

Secondly, God set the stage whereby our current prosperous Western Civilization was made possible!!

Thirdly, God ensured that sex no longer dominated society; once sexual obsession was dispensed with, its citizens, both small and great, could channel their creativeness into building a nation, a civilization.

Fourthly, this author makes the incredible statement that God's creation of heterosexuality uplifted the role of women within society, a truth that is likely to force radical feminists the world over into fits of rage and apoplexy!

Fifthly, societies that did not place boundaries around sexuality were stymied in their development. Therefore, Mr. Prager is stating that sexual boundaries are a good and wholesome thing, exactly as the Bible states!

Now, let us examine these points in detail.

1. God commanded that all sexual activity be channeled through marriage. God recognized the exceedingly powerful sexual urge that He had created; therefore, He created both male and female [Genesis 1:26-28] in order to satisfy this urge. Let us examine this Scripture to glean truth you perhaps did not realize.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply ..." [Genesis 1:27-28a; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

When God created man and woman, He did so in His image! Is this the reason that the first action He took was to "bless them"? Isn't this incredibly insightful? God blessed Adam and Eve immediately after he created Eve. God thus placed His stamp of approval directly over heterosexual marriage! Subsequently, we see where God specifically condemned homosexuality [Leviticus 18:22; 20:13], a point to which we shall return shortly; however, for this moment, please note that God blessed His first marriage couple.

Then, God told Adam and Eve to have sex! As part of His blessing pronouncement, God told Adam and Eve to "be fruitful" and "multiply" mankind. God created the sex urge in both men and women, and then promptly provided His solution to satisfy that powerful urge through sex within marriage. Throughout the centuries, some churches have decreed that sex is ugly and disgusting and really should be done only to preserve the species; this pronouncement did not come from God, nor from His Word! God intended that a husband and a wife should enjoy each other sexually, and continuously [1 Corinthians 7:2-5]. The superiority of this manner of living is proven by Life Insurance statistics, which show that married men live longer than single men, and that people who attend church regularly live longer.

2. God set the stage whereby our current Western Civilization was made possible!! Since no other religion has enabled its citizens to build the kind of strong, peaceful, and prosperous society as Western Society -- even with all its current unbiblical warts -- this statement is incredible.

Western society dominates the world scene and has done so for much of the past 2,000 years. While Satan has done his best to pollute and destroy our civilization through introducing witchcraft -- both within the kings and rulers and the Catholic Church -- and various moral pollutants, the underlying fact is that our society has remained strongly committed to sex within marriage, and has discouraged the urge to allow homosexual relations. In my many years of studying Witchcraft, I have discovered that the inclination to homosexuality is one of the most common themes running throughout pagan societies of every era, on virtually every place on the globe.

Mr. Prager notes this in his article we are quoting, above, that homosexuality has occupied a powerful role in pagan -- non-Judeo/Christian -- religions throughout the world. In fact, about 75% of his nine page article deals with a brief review of homosexuality in various cultures of world history, spanning the globe, including North and South American ancient cultures.

Therefore, the superiority of current Western Culture over all cultures in history and over all cultures today can be logically traced to heterosexuality through marriage. In closing, Mr. Prager states: "Throughout their history, one of the Jews' most distinguishing characteristics has been their commitment to family life. To Judiasm, the family -- and not the individual -- is to be the fundamental unit, the building block of society." [Ibid., p. 44]

3. God ensured that sex no longer dominated society; once sex obsession was dispensed with, its citizens, both small and great, could channel their creativeness into building a nation, a civilization. Do not be deceived: once a person steps outside of God's rules regarding sex, obsession with sex is inevitable. Further, a deviancy sets in, especially amongst males. Listen to Mr. Prager:

"Judiasm is worried about what happens to men and to society when men do not channel their drives into marriage. In this regard, the Torah and Judaism were highly prescient: The overwhelming majority of violent crimes are committed by unmarried men. Thus, male celibacy, a sacred state in many religions, is a sin. In Judaism, in order to become fully human, male and female must join ... The union of male and female is not merely some lively ideal; it is the essence of the Jewish outlook on becoming human." [Ibid.]

This statement is also an incredible one: in order to become fully functioning as human beings, man and woman must unite sexually within marriage! Conversely, a society that condones or encourages its citizens to participate in homosexual relations is dooming their citizens to living a life not fully human. Is this the reason so many non-christian societies are guilty of regular and systematic human rights violations? Is this the reason most pagan societies place so little value upon women? For all the hue and cry from radical feminists, the historic fact remains that women are treated far, far better in Judeo-Christian societies than in pagan societies.

This brings us to the fourth point of this opening paragraph:

4. This author makes the incredible statement that God's creation of heterosexuality uplifted the role of women within society. Listen to his exact words:

"But the major reason for women, and men, concerned with women's equality, to be concerned with homosexuality is that there seems to be a direct correlation between the prevalence of male homosexuality and the relegation of women to a low societal role. At the same time, the emancipation of women has been a function of Western civilization, the civilization least tolerant of homosexuality." [Ibid.]

How can this be, you ask? Since the Greek culture esteemed homosexual relations the most highly, it is there we need to first turn to see how a homosexual-obsessed society views its women. Listen to Mr. Prager's report of the rampant homosexuality prevalent in today's Muslim culture. Speaking of the horror of British Special Forces troopers discovering the bold homosexuality in the Afghan culture, Mr. Prager quotes one Brit as saying:

"We discovered from the Afghan soldier we had with us that a lot of men in this country have the same philosophy as ancient Greeks: a woman for babies, a man for pleasure." [Ibid., p. 43]

To the Greeks, a woman was just chattel, just a producer of babies, with whom sex was "necessary" to procreate and preserve the species. Toward the male -- especially young boys -- the Greeks turned for sexual pleasure.

Now, compare this historic fact to the Christian view of women.

"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her ... Even so husbands should love their wives as being in a sense their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself." [Ephesians 5:25, 28; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

Now, that is self-less love! That is a mightily high standard! That standard sets the woman up high in her husband's estimation and in the collective estimation of any society that cherishes the Biblical standard. This Godly command forces the feelings naturally generated by sexual relations through the man and wife of the marriage, rather than allowing sexual feelings to flow outside marriage generally, and between man-and-man specifically.

Thus, the intense feelings generated by the sexual experience pass between man and wife, building up the esteem, and the love, each has for the other. This reality is behind the commandment that the husband is to love his wife selflessly, and once you take selfishness out of a relationship, that relationship can truly grow. Listen to the Apostle Paul again:

"... in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others." [Philippians 2:3-4; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

This is the true basis of a fundamentally sound relationship, and it begins with Jesus Christ. Listen to Paul continue his teaching, as we go to the next verse.

"Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]" [Ibid., verse 4]

A relationship that begins with the Jesus-type selfless basis can then proceed through marriage to the marriage bed. At the marriage bed, each partner is more concerned about the other than about himself/herself. The result should be total satisfaction -- physical, emotional, mental.

This type of relationship can build families, rear children in the "fear and admonition of the Lord", and collectively build a society superior to any other. According to Dennis Prager, Judeo-Christian society has accomplished just that. He is absolutely right on target, except he does not give God, Jesus Christ, and His Word proper credit, preferring to refer instead to "Judaism, the Torah". But, at least, his secular opinion as to the inherent superiority of God's heterosexual command within marriage is worth a great deal.

5. Societies that did not place boundaries around sexuality were stymied in their development. People throughout centuries past have falsely believed God was trying to prevent them from having a "good time" with all His rules, regulations, and commandments. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth, as Jesus amply demonstrated when He was accused of going to parties and eating, and drinking and enjoying Himself. [Matthew 11:16-19]

When God created boundaries around certain behaviors -- especially sexual behavior -- He was acting out of the goodness of His heart, wishing only to protect His creation from destructive, deadly, and fatal actions. Since He was the Creator of mankind, He knew exactly the kind of actions we needed to undertake to make us healthy and happy, and He knew exactly the kinds of actions we needed to avoid.

Please allow me two illustrations:

First, we all understand when buying an automobile that we need to maintain that car in accordance with the directions provided by the creator of the car, in order to keep the car running well for a long period of time. We realize we need to read the manual and follow it.

Thus, we change oil regularly and keep up the scheduled maintenance. However, what if we decided to put water instead of oil in our car in order to save money? What if we decided to put water in the gas tank instead of expensive gasoline? The answer is obvious; the car would quit running in a hurry and would probably sustain great damage.

Thus, it is with mankind. God, the Creator, has built us in a certain way, and has given us detailed instructions in his "manual", called the Bible. God's rules, regulations, and commands are all designed to keep our bodies, minds, and spirits operating well and according to His plan. We deviate from these rules at our peril, for the time will soon come in the life of the individual and of his nation, when the damage sustained will be so great that they will get sick and die -- both individually and as a nation.

Second, God's commands do throw a boundary around people, in order to protect them. Since our hearts are inherently, instinctively evil {Jeremiah17:9}, left to ourselves, we will instinctively do those things that will damage us and destroy us; therefore, God gave us His commands in order to throw a hedge of protection around us so we shall not be damaged or suffer death as a result of our actions.

God's boundaries may be properly thought of as the boundaries we build around fireplaces in our homes. The fireplace is sturdily surrounded by either brick or steel, and an outside door is set in place so that the flames may not spark out of the fireplace, onto the rug, setting the house on fire. These fire boundaries protect the home from the fire getting out of control and burning the house down!

Sexual activity, as you are about to discover from Mr. Prager, below, is a fire that burns way out of control when it is done outside of God's commands. The sparks from the fireplace of this nation and all nations currently embracing homosexuality, is burning way out of control; our house is burning, yet most people refuse to realize it, and very few want to return to the safe boundaries provided by God's commands regarding sexual behavior.

How obvious is it that our house is on fire with our current official acceptance of homosexuality? Listen to Mr. Prager once more.

"While some homosexuals live lives of fidelity comparable to those of heterosexual males, it is usually not the case. While the typical lesbian has had fewer than 10 lovers, the typical male homosexual in America has had over 500 ... When male sexuality is not controlled, the consequences are considerably more destructive than when female sexuality is not controlled. Men, not women, engage in fetishes. Men are more frequently consumed by their sex drive and wander from sex partner to sex partner. Men, not women, are sexually sadistic.

The indiscriminate sex that characterizes much of male homosexual life represents the antithesis of Judaism's goal of elevating human life from the animal-like to the God-like." [Ibid., p. 45]

The more our authorities -- from government to education, to lawmaking and law enforcement -- accept the homosexual lifestyle, the more the sparks fly from the unprotected open door of the hearth, and the more the house is on fire. Our national house is on fire, and yet very few people ever understand. What did God foretell of the End of the Age?

"... the wicked shall do wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but the teachers and those who are wise shall understand." [Daniel 12:10b; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

Since the book of Daniel is written exclusively for the End of the Age, we know that this passage was written for this time, for us right here and right now. Therefore, we can know that this revelation is for us, and applies to this subject of homosexuality. Listen to what this passage is telling us:

1. "The wicked shall do wickedly". The wickedness normally present in any era of time will be magnified at the End of the Age. The wicked shall really do wickedly, shall really live wicked lives. When Jesus told us that the End of the Age shall be characterized by the same wickedness that vexed poor Lot. Listen:

"And [just] as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the time of the Son of Man ... So also [it was the same] as it was in the days of Lot. [People] ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But on the [very] day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed [them] all." [Luke 17:26-28]

Jesus' main thrust here was to drive home the point that His coming again would be as unanticipated by the sinners as it was in the days of Noah and Lot. However, some scholars believe that Jesus also meant that many of the sinful characteristics of the societies living at the time of Noah and of Lot will be present at the days of the End of the Age. Certainly, we are seeing a coming out of the homosexual lifestyle and a forced acceptance of it by government authorities on a scale unseen since the days of Lot -- of Sodom and Gomorrah.


Now, let us go back to the rest of his article, to pull out genuine gems worth noting and discussing.

De-Sexualization of God, Religion, and Society

"Among the consequences of the unchanneled sex drive is the sexualization of everything -- including religion. Unless the sex drive is appropriately harnessed (not squelched -- which leads to its own destructive consequences), higher religion could not have developed. Thus, the first thing Judaism did was to de-sexualize God. 'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth' by his will, not through any sexual behavior. This broke with all other religions, and it alone changed human history." [Ibid., p. 36]

In my years in the business world, I can tell you that two types of people are most obsessed with money: (1) those who think they are nearly at their goal; and (2) those who have no money, but who have plenty of desires for the things money can buy. This latter group are the most obsessed with money; they are the ones who buy lottery tickets and fill the gambling casinos, trying to get rich quick.

The principle is that the most obsessed people are those who have desires but have no outlet by which to satisfy those desires. There are exceptions to this rule, but the rule holds, pretty firmly.

This exact situation holds true in terms of sex, as Mr. Prager alludes, above. When the sex drive is "squelched" through Forced Celibacy -- which it has been in the priesthood of many Mystery Religions throughout history -- the results are disastrous sexual deviancy on the part of the priests. Deviant priestly activity has occurred in celibate priests of every Mystery Religion for the past 4,000+ years, the most recent example being the Roman Catholic Priesthood. Now, let us return to the first statement of this paragraph, above, that Judaism was able to "de-sexualize" God; many Christians do not realize the extent to which pagan religions in history have sexualized their god. As Mr. Prager noted:

"The gods of virtually all civilizations engaged in sexual relations." [Ibid.]

To illustrate this point, Mr. Prager listed the various civilizations and their respective religions in which their gods or goddesses engaged in sexual behavior, including rape and sadistic sex acts. From the Babylonians to the Egyptians, to Canaan, to Hinduism, to Chinese Buddhism, to the Greek Mysteries, and to Rome, gods and goddesses pursued sex, both heterosexually and homosexuality. After listing these facts in these various religions, Mr. Prager then states:

"Given the sexual activity of the gods, it is not surprising that the religions themselves were replete with all forms of sexual activity. In the Near East, and elsewhere, virgins were deflowered by priests prior to engaging in relations with their husbands, and sacred or ritual prostitution was almost universal." [Ibid., p. 37]

During the early years of the Christian Church, pagan ritual prostitution was rampant in both the Greek and Roman religions. The goddess, Diana, against which the Apostle Paul continually battled, was primarily a sex goddess, depicted with many breasts. Her temples routinely practiced prostitution; men loved this type of religion, where they could worship their god or goddess by practicing sex regularly with many different women!

But, then, Mr. Prager drops a bombshell"

"Throughout the ancient Near East, from very early times, anal intercourse formed a part of goddess worship." [Ibid.]

Truly, when Satan created these many false religions based largely on sexual relations, he knew he was appealing to the most base of human instincts. Truly, these civilizations had allowed the sexual fire to escape out of the fireplace and burn the house down. Over a period of time, the God of the Bible brought every one of these ancient civilizations into physical judgment, destroying them. Most Christians do not realize that, when God ordered the Israelites to kill every single citizen of the tribes inhabiting the Promised Land, He did so because these tribes were so deeply immersed in sexual sin that God wanted to prevent this terrible evil from taking hold within the Jewish tribes. Time and time again, God thundered, "So shall you put the evil from you".

Mr. Prager spent a goodly amount of time detailing these pagan sexual practices and demonstrating that sexual obsession dominated not only these pagan religions, but also society itself. Average citizens and their leaders were engrossed in various forms of sex. Then, Mr. Prager contrasted this sad state of affairs with the superiority of God's way.

"Judaism places controls on sexual activity. It could no longer dominate religion and social life. It was to be sanctified -- which in Hebrew means 'separated' -- from the world and placed in the home, in the bed of husband and wife. Judaism's restricting of sexual behavior was one of the essential elements that enabled society to progress ... [producing] the most far-reaching changes in history." [Ibid.]

In these pagan societies, citizens acted routinely like hot-blooded single males act today; they were constantly looking out for the next sexual conquest, and were obsessed with attaining it. Then, once that conquest was made and was finished, they obsessed with the next conquest.

God's plan is so superior! By channeling the sex drive through husband and wife, God provided for the potential that sex could be enjoyed daily, if that was the desire of the husband and wife! Or, several times daily! This reality then took away the obsession with getting sex. During the day, when at work, both husband and wife could turn their attention, their activities, and their creative abilities, toward activities that would build home, nation, and civilization. Is it any wonder that the collective effort in Jewish and Christian nations built better civilizations, and produced for a more abundant lifestyle?

Of course, we Christians also know that God's blessing and cursing of a people depending upon whether they are following His commands regarding sexual activity has a great deal to do with the final outcome of these pagan civilizations; however, the differences between Israel and Christian nations is so striking, Mr. Prager can see it clearly even if he does not believe in God's blessing obedient nations and cursing rebellious ones.

God Defined Both Heterosexuality and Homosexuality

Without God's declarations that He would only recognize sex within heterosexual marriage, homosexuality was as accepted as normal by the pagan peoples as was heterosexuality. As Mr. Prager stated:

"To appreciate the extent of the revolution wrought by Judaism's prohibiting homosexuality and demanding that all sexual interaction be male-female, it is first necessary to appreciate just how universally accepted, valued and practiced homosexuality has been throughout the world. The one continuous exception was Jewish civilization -- and a thousand years later -- Christianity. 'None of the archaic civilizations prohibited homosexuality per se', notes professor of sociology, Dr. David E. Greenberg." [Ibid., p. 38]

This one lone exception in declaring homosexuality to be wrong is exactly what you would expect to see if the God of the Bible is the only true God, while Satan, the god of all the other pagan nations that legimatized homosexuality, spread this form of rebellion throughout the entire world, permeating all pagan religions. You would expect there to be only one religion -- the religion that worshiped the one true God -- to outlaw that activity which God called an "abomination". Listen to the stark manner in which God condemned homosexuality.

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." [Leviticus 18:22]

"If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent and detestable); they both shall be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." [Leviticus 20:13; both Scriptures from Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

These are exceedingly strong words from the Creator God, Who had originally created a man (Adam) and his wife (Eve), in order that they might "be fruitful and inhabit the earth". Since God originally created sex to be the means by which mankind is perpetuated and numerically increased, how can it surprise anyone that God would forbid any sexual activity that He did not authorize or plan for? Why should we be surprised that God would disallow in the strongest possible terms, sex that could not result in babies being born?

Christian leaders wasted no time in telling their followers that Jesus Christ was carrying forward all the Moral Law of the Old Testament, including the strict ban on homosexuality. Listen to the Apostle Paul, speaking through the power of the Holy Spirit:

"Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (mislead); neither the pure and immoral, nor idolators, nor adulterers, or those who participate in homosexuality ... will inherit or have any part in the kingdom of God." [1 Corinthians 6:9-11]

Thus, the Holy Spirit firmly ensured that the fledgling Christian Church fell solidly in line with God's original Old Testament Moral Law. This fact is the reason Mr. Prager noted that Christianity joined Judaism as being the lone holdout against homosexuality.

These firm statements by Paul really anger the current homosexual crowd. How angry are homosexuals today against the Apostle Paul? In his current book of apologetics on behalf of Traditional Roman Catholicism, Michael Rose quotes one homosexual Catholic priest. Listen:

"The Apostle Paul should be castrated and have his balls stuffed into his mouth." ["Goodbye! Good Men", by Michael Rose, p. ]

Current homosexual leaders have begun taking a new tactic lately. They seek to separate Jesus Christ and the Gospel accounts from the rest of the New Testament. They note that Jesus did not specifically speak out against homosexuality; therefore, they reason He tacitly accepted this deviant sexual practice!

From a purely logical standpoint, no one can draw such a specific conclusion based on a lack of evidence! It is totally illogical to reach such a conclusion based on a lack of teaching on Jesus' part. Further, these people ignore the fact that Jesus assigned the Apostle Paul the responsibility to be the founder of Gentile Christianity, and to enunciate exactly how Jesus' teachings in the Gospel account were to be applied. Remember this: Jesus was born under the Old Testament Law, He sent out His disciples to reach only Jewish people, and He died under the Law. Jesus was a Rabbi under the Old Testament Law; therefore, not every teaching in the Gospels, and not every prophetic utterance, in the Four Gospels, applies to the Gentile Church. We can be assured that a teaching applies to the Gentile Church -- which was never under the Law -- only if the Apostle Paul reiterated it.

Nevertheless, Jesus made a bold statement that totally disproves this lie being propagated and widely spread, by current homosexual leaders. The Pharisees were telling the people that Jesus was blasphemously trying to abolish the entire Old Testament Law system. Jesus stated:

"Do not think that I have come to do away with or undo the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to do away with or undo but to complete and fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until the sky and earth pass away and perish, not one smallest letter [jot] nor one little hook [tittle] (identifying certain Hebrew letters) will pass from the Law until all things it foreshadows are accomplished." [Matthew 5:17-18; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

How much more plan can Jesus make it that He is not in favor of homosexuality? Since not one "jot or tittle" will pass away as long as the sky and earth remain, then the homosexual prohibitions of Leviticus 18 and 20 shall remain in effect until the end of Jesus' 1,000 year reign!

God Outlawed Homosexuality Even Before He Gave Judaism's Law To Moses

One factor that Mr. Prager seems not to understand is that God forbade homosexuality millennia before He officially gave the Law to Moses. Human history had begun roughly 2,000 years before Moses; yet, Mr. Prager makes the common mistake of believing that God's prohibition of homosexuality began only with Moses.

God had instituted a verbal Law that He required all nations to obey. We see this fact in a couple interesting instances in the Old Testament.

First, we see that Cain knew he had committed a grievous sin by murdering his brother, Abel.

Secondly, we see Abraham pleading with God not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their homosexuality. Abraham did not plead for God to wink at sin; rather, he pleaded with God on the basis that God never destroyed the innocent along with the guilty. After much pleading, Abraham secured God's promise that He would not destroy these two cities if He could find only 10 righteous men amongst the population of many tens of thousands in these two ancient cities.

We see the story unfold in Genesis 18, starting with verse 16, when God decides to inform Abraham of His plans to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham was horrified when he learned that God intended to slaughter the entire population for their deviant sexual -- homosexual -- activities. Abraham then launched into a negotiating sequence with God, arguing that He could not kill the innocent along with the righteous [verses 25-28].

Then God granted Abraham his request to withhold physical destruction if He could find only 50 righteous men in both cities. Even though Abraham could not save the people of the cities, he did save Lot. Listen to what Matthew Henry says about this wonderful fact.

"Here is the first solemn prayer upon record in the Bible; and it is a prayer for the sparing of Sodom. Abraham prayed earnestly that Sodom might be spared, if but a few righteous persons should be found in it. Come and learn from Abraham what compassion we should feel for sinners, and how earnestly we should pray for them. We see here that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Abraham, indeed, failed in his request for the whole place, but Lot was miraculously delivered." [Matthew Henry's Commentaries]

Did you realize that Abraham's prayer to God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah was the very first solemn prayer ever recorded in the Bible? Abraham walked and talked with God so intimately, and on such a daily basis, he felt he could vigorously protest to His Creator God!

And, argue he did. Once God agreed to spare the cities if He could find only 50 righteous men, Abraham then asked God to spare if He could find just 40, and then 20, and finally, 10. In the end, God agreed to spare Sodom and Gomorrah if He could find just 10 righteous people; this prayer is likely what saved Lot and his family, just as Matthew Henry stated. Truly, the ferment prayer of a righteous person does avail much for God.

Abraham's prayer not only saved the lives of Lot and his family, but it also set up the scenario we have recorded in Scripture in which Godly angels who had taken the physical form of men walked into the gate of the city, where Lot greeted them. Lot evidently knew that these three men would be accosted by the gay men and boys of the city, in a city where public sex was very common. Therefore, Lot asked these men to come to his house for protection, an invitation the angels accepted.

At some point, Lot became aware that these men were angels sent from God. The men and boys of the city surrounded his house to demand that Lot send these angelic men out so they could "know" them [the word, "know" means sexual intimacy]. The gays surrounding this house were planning on raping these angelic men right out in public!

Why were they so bold? Why were they not afraid of being arrested by the police for either the forcible rape they were planning or for having sex out in public? A little common sense will tell you why these men were not afraid of being arrested: such public activity was NOT illegal in Sodom and Gomorrah! Why? Because all authoritative institutions -- schools, legislatures, courts -- taught that homosexuality was just as normal as heterosexuality and passed no laws prohibiting it anyplace, anytime, with anyone, or under any circumstances. Further, individual rights evidently had no place, as these men and boys intended to have sex with these Godly angels, whether the victims were willing or unwilling; in other words, these gay men were going to rape these angels in order to satisfy their lust.

Finally, notice Lot's terrible foreboding over the consequences of this intended rape. Listen:

"But before they [the angels] lay down, the men of the city of Sodom, both young and old, all the men from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know (be intimate with) them. And Lot went out of the door to the men and shut the door after him. And said, I beg of you, my brothers, do not behave so wickedly. Look now, I have two daughters who are virgins; let me, I beg of you, bring them out to you, and you can do as you please with them. But only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof." [Genesis 19:4-8; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

When Lot stated, "do not behave so wickedly", he was reacting in abhorrence to a Divinely appointed moral law that not only forbade such sexual activity, but stipulated such strenuous punishment as to make Lot take the next step in order to prevent this homosexual rape of the Godly angels. Listen:

"I have two daughters who are virgins; let me, I beg of you, bring them out to you, and you can do as you please with them. But only do nothing to these men ..."

Even though God has always forbidden heterosexual rape, Lot considered that to be a far less grievous sin than raping Godly angels. At least, divine messengers from heaven would not be sexually violated.

However, the major point we wish to make is that God had instituted a moral code known to men of all tribes and nations many centuries prior to the time He gave the Mosaic Law. Therefore, this author, Mr. Prager, is evidently not aware of this fact, as he states that the legal prohibition against homosexuality started with the Judaic Law.

CONCLUSION

We Bible-believing Christians do not need any confirmation of our faith that God's commands in the Holy Bible produce a superior way of life; we felt this in our hearts and souls the moment we received Jesus Christ as Savior and the Holy Spirit took up residence within our hearts. Every day of our lives, we experience the superiority of Scriptural living. As we approach the minor and major troubles in our lives, we experience the heart-peace of which the Apostle Paul so clearly stated was the wonderful lot of the believer.

Romans 2:10 -- "But glory and honor and [heart] peace shall be awarded to everyone who [habitually] does good, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile)." [Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

Romans 14:17 -- "[After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." [Ibid.]

1 Corinthians 1:3 -- "Grace (favor and spiritual blessing) be to you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." [Ibid.]

2 Corinthians 1:2 -- "Grace (favor and spiritual blessing) to you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." [Ibid.]

Philippians 1:2 -- "Grace (favor and blessing) to you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)." [Ibid.]

Colossians 1:2 -- "To the saints (the consecrated people of God) and believing and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colossae: Grace (spiritual favor and blessing) to you and [heart] peace from God our Father." [Ibid.]

Colossians 3:15 -- "And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]." [Ibid.]

1 Thessalonians 1:1 -- "PAUL, SILVANUS (Silas), and Timothy, to the assembly (church) of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah): Grace (spiritual blessing and divine favor) to you and [heart] peace." [Ibid.]

2 Thessalonians 1:2 -- "Grace (unmerited favor) be to you and [heart] peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." [Ibid.]

1 Timothy 1:2 -- "To Timothy, my true son in the faith: Grace (spiritual blessing and favor), mercy, and [heart] peace [be yours] from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord."

2 Timothy 1:2 -- "To Timothy, [my] beloved child: Grace (favor and spiritual blessing), mercy, and [heart] peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord!" [Ibid.]

Titus 1:4 -- "To Titus, my true child according to a common (general) faith: Grace (favor and spiritual blessing) and [heart] peace from God the Father and the Lord Christ Jesus our Savior." [Ibid.]

Philemon 1:3 -- "Grace (spiritual blessing and favor) be to all of you and [heart] peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)." [Ibid.]

The Apostle Paul included the words, "heart peace" in the beginning part of these wonderful epistles, making you realize that he intended the words of each epistle to produce the heart peace for which people are seeking. The true believer has this "heart peace".

The wicked are not so. As God promised the wicked:

"But the wicked are like the troubled sea, for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt." [Isaiah 57:20]

"Not so the wicked [those disobedient and living without God are not so]. But they are like the chaff [worthless, dead, without substance] which the wind drives away." [Psalm 1:4; Ibid.]]

As we head into the End of the Age, and the planned disasters are rushing down upon us, what is your heart peace before Jesus Christ?

Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but have been very lukewarm in your spiritual walk with Him, you need to immediately ask Him for forgiveness and for renewal. He will instantly forgive you, and fill your heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Then, you need to begin a daily walk of prayer and personal Bible Study.

Once you accept Him as Savior, you are spiritually Born Again, and are as assured of Heaven as if you were already there. Then, you can rest assured that the Kingdom of Antichrist will not touch you spiritually.
