THE ENTIRE WORLD SAYS 'GOODBYE' AND 'GODSPEED' TO MOTHER TERESA.

Mother Teresa is laid to rest in Calcutta, India, amidst the pomp and honor normally given only to heads of state. Yet, millions of the poor are given the opportunity to pay their last respects. Without doubt, Mother Teresa is the 20th Centuries' greatest example of devotion to the poorest of the poor, and of Jesus Christ's commandment to serve the poor. We shall examine the record of this remarkable woman, and shall look within Scripture.

THE CUTTING EDGE

NEWS BRIEF: "Thousands bid farewell to Mother Teresa", by Michael A. Lev, Chicago Tribune, reprinted by The Providence Sunday Journal, September 14, 1997, Volume CXI, No. 37, pages A-1, 14.

CALCUTTA, India -- "Mother Teresa, the humble Roman Catholic missionary who became a symbol of saintliness for her work with the poorest of the world's poor, was laid to rest yesterday in an extraordinary display of tributes that included military pageantry, emotional crowds, and the prayers of many faiths. Thousands of Calcutta residents poured into the streets to bid farewell to the nun whom they remember as a selfless protector of the sick and needy, who relied on faith in God as she built the Missionaries of Charity Order she founded here into a worldwide network of homes and hospices. 'Perhaps the greatest message she has given to the world is the value and dignity of human life', Calcutta's Archbishop Henry D'Souaz said in his eulogy."

"The funeral at a large indoor stadium reflected Mother Teresa's identity as an icon of faith and humanitarianism, but it was a spontaneous moment on the streets of Calcutta that exemplified her closeness to the people of India, where she had lived for nearly 70 years. As the funeral procession moved slowly toward the stadium, several hundred people watching from the sidewalks slipped through barricades to chase the cortege and run beside the garlanded gun carriage that carried her open casket. Army honor guards on foot tried to surround and protect the cortege. The soldiers pushed back a few members of the crowd, but the group, growing in size, continued to hustle alongside, although keeping its distance from the vehicles."

This crowd acted spontaneously, moved by the deep wells of love and emotion welling up within them, as they pushed forward to express their final farewells to the woman who had demonstrated Christian love and charity far more publicly than had anyone in this century. As Mother Teresa had loved them, so had they loved her, and this public love was demonstrated by this action of the crowd, as they pushed forward to get closer to her body. We also find it very interesting that, even though India provided the ceremony, as Mother Teresa was an Indian citizen, yet they gave Mother Teresa a Christian burial, not the immolation of a Hindu.

"Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Vatican's secretary of state and the special envoy of Pope John Paul II, said Mother Teresa's life was a story of biblical faith that exemplified the teaching that it is more blessed to give than to receive. 'Mother Teresa of Calcutta understood fully the gospel of life', Sodano said. 'She understood it with every fiber of her indomitable spirit and every ounce of energy of her fail body'."

"Sodano then responded to a criticism sometimes directed at Mother Teresa that, while she provided tender care to the poor, she could have done more to fight the causes of poverty in the world. 'Mother Teresa was aware of this criticism,' he said. 'She would shrug as if to say, While you are discussing the causes, I will kneel beside the poorest of the poor and tend to their needs. The beggar, the leper, the victim of AIDS, do not need these theories. They need love. They can't wait for the rest of the world to come out with the perfect answer.'"

Let us look now at the prayer which Mother Teresa wrote, and that every Missionary of Charity says before leaving for his or her apostolate. This prayer is also used as the Physician's Prayer in Shishu Bhavan, the children's home that Mother Teresa oversaw in Calcutta.

"Dear Lord, the Great Healer, I kneel before you,

Since every perfect gift must come from You.

I pray, give skill to my hands, clear vision to my mind,

kindness and meekness to my heart.

Give me singleness of purpose, strength to lift up a part

of the burden of my suffering fellow men, and a true

realization of the privilege that is mine.

Take from my heart all guile and worldliness,

That with the simple faith of a child, I may rely on You.

(From A Simple Heart, by Mother Teresa. Published by Ballantine Books, 1995)"

To a Western World that is terribly caught up in the sin of Materialism, that is constantly striving to accumulate more wealth and material possessions, this type of commitment to caring for the physical needs of the poor provides a startling contrast. Let us examine now what the Bible has to say about how we are to treat the poor.

Exodus 23:10-11, "And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:

But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat:" In this verse, God commands the Israelites to refrain from farming their land every seventh year, and to allow the poor to eat the fruit. However, God did not intend that the poor only eat every seventh year! In Leviticus 19:10, God instructed that a portion of the vineyards and the fields be left for the poor to come in and pick for themselves. God is always interested in the poor.

In Leviticus 19:15, God commands that, in matters of judicial judgment, preferential treatment is not to be given either to the poor, nor to the mighty and wealthy, but that such judgment is to be fairly administered. In far too many cases throughout history, and today, the mighty and the wealthy run roughshod over the poor in the courts.

In Deuteronomy 15:4, and 7, God commands the Israelite to treat the poor liberally, both to give them the ability to borrow and to be liberal in forgiving their debt, for the express purpose that there should be no desperately poor within the land! God's desire, then, is that the nation which follows His commandments should not have any poor within its borders. For this goal to be realized, however, also depends upon the poor being willing to work hard and to handle their limited resources wisely.

In Deuteronomy 15:11, God recognizes that the poor would always be a fact of life within Israel. Therefore He says, "For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land." The person whom God has blessed with abundance is to share liberally with the poor. We see this principle repeated often in the New Testament.

In Psalm 82:3-4, we can see that Mother Teresa was definitely going about the type of work which God asked us to do: "Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy". Certainly, Mother Teresa accomplished this task, at least as it was within her capability to do so. Many articles since her death have noted that she was an advocate for the poor within the Vatican, to presidents and prime ministers, to royalty, and to the wealthy. "Her Missionaries of Charity now has 4,000 sisters and more than 500 projects in 120 countries." [Ibid., Page A-14] Mother Teresa undoubtedly understood the principle the Lord enunciated in Proverbs 10:15, "The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty." Mother Teresa was the advocate, the intercessor, between the rich of the world and the poor in India, and through her Missionaries of Charity, throughout the world.

Or, perhaps, Mother Teresa understood God's principle given in Proverbs 19:17, "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." Mother Teresa did lend unto the Lord through her lifetime of work among the poor.

In Proverbs 31, God is listing the many virtues of a "Virtuous Woman", and in verse 20, we read, "She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy." Even though the Virtuous Woman was married, and attentive to her many duties of a mother to her children, Mother Teresa did possess this trait toward the poor.

From Isaiah to Malachi, we see the Lord telling the Israelites, time and time again, that one of the reasons they were going into national judgment, were going to lose life, liberty, and their very nation, was because of the way in which they consistently oppressed the poor. The Jewish poor were consistently oppressed financially, they were thrown out of their meager homes, and they were consistently oppressed by unjust judges in the Jewish court system.

Finally, God promises that, in His Millennial Kingdom, He personally shall ensure that the poor are taken care of, finally. "What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it." [Isaiah 14:32]

Now, let us examine some of the passages of the New Testament to see that Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, had no less interest in the plight of the poor than He did in the Old Testament.

In Mark 10:17-22, we have the account of the Rich Young Ruler, who came to Jesus to ask Him how he might inherit eternal life. Jesus perceived that the vast wealth which the man possessed stood in the way of the personal commitment which Jesus demands of anyone who would follow Him. So, Jesus said to this young man: "One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me." Now, this does not mean that a person can "buy" their way into Heaven by giving all of their wealth to the poor; what it does mean is that a man's love of his possessions may keep him from the personal commitment to Jesus Christ necessary to enter eternal life. But, notice that Jesus' major concern was for the poor; He did not command this man to give his wealth to further secondary education, nor to give the money to his family, but He did command him to give his money to the poor. Jesus has great compassion for the poor.

In Luke 14:13-14, Jesus told His redeemed followers, "But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just." Rather than inviting people to your dinner parties that are as equally fed and clothed as you are, you are to invite the poor, the blind, and the handicapped. Again, Jesus' concern was for the poor. He promised, in this Scripture, that His followers who did this would be rewarded at the "Resurrection of the Just".

So, Mother Teresa seems to exemplify this type of Christian commitment to the poor. On several occasions, she remarked that she saw Jesus Christ in the poor people of the worst slums. Just as she would serve Jesus Christ, she served the poor. Certainly, more of us Christians should endeavor to serve the poor and the needy with a commitment that even comes close to that of Mother Teresa!

Therefore, Mother Teresa is destined for sainthood in the Roman Catholic Church. Pope John Paul II has often spoken of Mother Teresa as a saint, and many people have called her a "living saint". However, as an article entitled, "Pontiff unlikely to speed sainthood", on page A-15, in the paper in which the lead article was taken, stated, "... the formal process of canonization takes years ... Evidence the candidate performed at least one miracle is needed for 'beatification', a preliminary step before canonization. A second miracle is needed for full sainthood. These days, a miracle is usually a medically certified cure that can be attributed to the candidate's intercession with God."

Thus, it is that, just as Mother Teresa received accolades during her lifetime of service, she will receive the full, and highest honor, which the Roman Catholic Church can bestow, that of Saint.

In light of all this, we can readily assume that Mother Teresa was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus Christ immediately upon death, or at least after a short stay in Purgatory, correct? In spite of wishing that this were the case, we reluctantly point out that this may not be the case. At this point, we would only ask that you do not respond emotionally and reject what we are about to say; rather, do as the Bereans did to the Apostle Paul: examine the Scriptures to see if these things are true.

How does one qualify for Heaven? How does one inherit eternal life? These were the questions posed to Jesus Himself by Nicodemus. Listen to Jesus' solemn reply: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." [John 3:3] Later, in verse 7, Jesus made it quite clear that He was speaking of a spiritual conversion, not a physical one. Titus 3:5-6, states the case most succinctly. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour." We are saved only through the power of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, not by any good works which we might have done, not even a lifetime of good works.

The sad fact is that the Roman Catholic Church has not preached the necessity of being "Born Again" for over 1,000 years. Unfortunately, the Gospel they preach and the "salvation" they offer are very good counterfeits: they look and sound very close to the real thing, but they are not. Let us examine how the Roman Catholic Church teaches that a person may be saved, from eternal Hell, and saved to, eternal Heaven.

The "Catechism of the Catholic Church" teaches this about salvation. "Believing in Jesus Christ and in the One who sent him for our salvation is necessary to obtaining that salvation." [Page 44] The Catechism quotes three verses, which we print, below:

1) Mark 16:16 -- "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Remember the last phrase of this verse, for it shall have great importance later on in this article.

2) John 3:36 -- "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Again, remember the last part of this Scripture.

3) John 6:40 -- "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

The key to understanding these verses is the word, "believe". Many people think that if they just "believe" that Jesus Christ is God and came to die for our sins, they are going to Heaven; but, these same people refuse to put their total trust in Jesus and His finished work on the cross for their salvation, depending also on good works, going to church, taking communion, and participating in sacraments. This type of faith is not "saving faith". Saving faith is believing that Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross alone is sufficient for the salvation of sin and for the full payment of penalty of all our sin.

But, there is also more to this concept of the "belief that saves". Biblical belief is firmly tied into having loyalty to God, and this loyalty is proven by obedience to God's commands and to His teachings.

Consider these verses: 1) Jesus said, in Mark 1:15, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." 2) Jesus said, in John 6:29, "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." 3) John 14:1, Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

"Believe the Gospel", "believe on Him whom He hath sent", and "believe also in Me", all refer to believing both that Jesus was the Son of God Who died for our sins, AND also believing in the doctrines Jesus taught. Now, stay with me here, because we are very close to a proper understanding of the work and spiritual life of Mother Teresa. Saving faith also means believing in, and obeying, all the teachings of Jesus Christ. Since this is so, what might be some of the things which Jesus taught about Himself that anyone who is saved MUST believe and teach?

1) In John 14:6, Jesus boldly stated, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus was saying that He was the only door through which a person may enter that can go to Heaven. This brands every other religion in the world a fraud and a fake, and spiritually worthless. Indeed, false religions are spiritually deadly, in that they lead its believers straight into eternal Hell.

2) In Acts 4:12, the Apostle Peter said, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Do not be deceived: there is no other way to Heaven except through Jesus Christ. Saving faith also produces a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit. "This relationship is one of love that is built on trust and dependence. We receive it by trusting the saving work of Jesus. Faith is the basic Christian experience, the decision for Christ Jesus. It is the acceptance of Christ's lordship (i.e., His God-given, absolute authority). In this sense faith is doubly a break from the past: it is one's removal from sin, and it is one's removal from all other religious allegiances (1 Thess. 1:9) [Holman Bible Dictionary]

Saving Faith is accepting Jesus Christ's lordship. There can be no salvation without accepting everything that Jesus taught with absolute belief and obedience. This is the essence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: teaching everything Jesus taught, teaching nothing else. If we believe and hold fast to this Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are saved for eternity, and can be as assured of Heaven as if we were already there.

Is this what Mother Teresa has done? Has she held fast to the things Jesus has taught, with complete acceptance? As you contemplate this question, remember that good works amongst the poor, AND religious poverty, will not, by themselves, save anyone. What was Mother Teresa teaching these poor people among whom she was serving? Was she teaching them the True Jesus Christ? Was she teaching them that they MUST believe on Jesus Christ as God come in human flesh in order to be saved? Was Mother Teresa true to Jesus' teaching that He was the only way to Heaven? Was Mother Teresa true to Jesus' teaching that He was the only way by which a person could come to God the Father?

Listen to Mother Teresa speaking about Conversion to her biographer, Desmond Doig. "What we are all trying to do by our work, by serving the people, is to come closer to God. If in coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we are converting. We become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic, a better whatever we are, and then by being better we come closer and closer to Him. If we accept Him fully in our lives, then that is conversion. What approach would I use? For me, naturally, it would be a Catholic one, for you it may be Hindu, for someone else, Buddhist, according to one's conscience. What God is in your mind you must accept." [Desmond Doig, "Mother Teresa: Her People and Her Work", William Collins Sons & Co., Ltd., Glascow, 1976, page 136, as quoted by Constance Cumbey, in "A Planned Deception: The Staging of a New Age Messiah", Pointe Publishers, East Detroit, Michigan, ISBN 0-935897-00-3, page 108] [Emphasis ours]

What nonsense is this? Is this loyalty to the teachings, to the Truth of Jesus Christ? Of course, it is not!! When Jesus said that He was the "Way, the Truth, and the Life" [John 14:6], He meant that anyone who wanted to inherit eternal life MUST believe in His life and work and sacrifice on the Cross. Thus, Mother Teresa is not helping these poor people spiritually; in fact she is confirming them in their false religion and damning them to Hell!!

Just in case you need further explanation that Mother Teresa is confirming people in their lost, false religions, Mother Teresa continues explaining to Desmond Doig. "There are many Hindu ladies who want our way of life, the life of poverty, prayer, sacrifice and service. They want the life of a Missionary. But they wish to retain their faith, their own belief in God ... We live that they may die, so that they may go home according to what is written in the book, be it written according to Hindu, or Muslim, or Buddhist, or Catholic, or Protestant, or any other belief ... We give them whatever they ask according to their faith." [Ibid]

This is not Biblical Christianity. This is not Saving Faith.

However, this is Traditional Roman Catholicism. For over 1,000 years, Roman Catholic missionaries have incorporated pagan beliefs and practices into Christianity, in order to "give them what they want" so they can be "converted" to Catholicism. Thus, the entire Roman Catholic Church has become corrupt. Roman Catholicism has never insisted upon the pure Truth of the Gospel; they have never held Jesus Christ up to the Pagan world, unchanged. Mother Teresa is simply "converting" according to Traditional Roman Catholicism.

But, if you look closely at the last sentence of Mother Teresa's first quotation, above, you suddenly will receive a new revelation!! Let us review her quote again. "What God is in your mind you must accept." This, my friend, is standard New Age teaching!!! New Age doctrine teaches that there is no absolute Right or Wrong, that everyone can have a different belief in God, and still be on the correct spiritual path. This fact labels Mother Teresa as New Age!!

In fact, New Age doctrine also holds that each man is "divine". They teach that each person is inherently good, and can achieve godhood if they simply can properly "raise their consciousness level".

Guess what? Mother Teresa believes this, as well. Listen to another newspaper account of the life, work, and beliefs of Mother Teresa. "She visited many of the most desperate tenements and wretched alleys on the planet. She looked into the eyes of the loneliest, sickest, most forgotten men and women on earth, and saw their humanity -- and the divinity in their souls." [Mother Teresa -- 1910-1997 -- India's inspirational 'living saint' dies", Providence Journal Bulletin, September 6, 1997, page A-7]

This is not Biblical teaching; this is New Age teaching.

Perhaps this is why Mother Teresa has consistently been seen attending and speaking at, various New Age conferences in the past 20 years. "Perhaps at least part of the apostate influences here [with Mother Teresa] may be traced to the Temple of Understanding's influence. Desmond Doig and Temple of Understanding materials indicate that on October 24, 1975, Mother Teresa spoke at a Temple of Understanding Conference. She has subsequently been a featured speaker at other New Age Conferences. [Constance Cumbey, "A Planned Deception", page 103].

In NEWS1020, we thoroughly reported the "State of the World" Forum held under the auspices of the Gorbachev Foundation, which is one of the major New World Order leadership forums. This "State of the World Forum", was held in the exclusive Fairmont Hotel, located in the prestigious Nob Hill section of San Francisco. This forum was held from September 28 - October 1, 1995, and it had as its main purpose [and I am quoting Gorbachev], "From the outset I would like to suggest that we consider the establishment of a global Brain Trust to focus on the present and future of our civilization ... this idea of a Brain Trust can only succeed if endorsed and actively pursued by people who are widely respected as world leaders and global citizens." We encourage you to read NEWS1020, if you haven't done so, to notice the many people who are part of the "movers and shakers" to produce this New World Order. There may be some people there whom you do not expect to be there!

Thus, the purpose of this forum was to plan for the way in which the world could more smoothly move into the Luciferian New World Order. As we scanned the complete list of participants, we were surprised to learn that the representative of the Roman Catholic Church was Mother Teresa!!

Unfortunately, we believe Mother Teresa was not Born Again, and that her lifelong ministry did not produce eternal benefits for those whom she so valiantly served. Our hearts break as we consider the possibility that Mother Teresa might not be in Heaven. We shake and tremble when we think that Mother Teresa might be one of those of whom Jesus Christ spoke, who wake up on the Day of Judgment, realizing suddenly that they are going to Hell, when they were absolutely sure they were going to Heaven. Listen carefully to Jesus' words:

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

I can see Mother Teresa protesting to the Lord Jesus Christ: "But, Lord, Lord, I did many mighty works in your name. Why, I gave my life and my energy to taking care of the most pitiful and despised poor and rejected of the Earth. I labored to establish the Missionaries of Charity, with over 400 chapters, and 4,000 dedicated nuns. We healed the sick, and took care of everyone who needed help. We taught these people spiritually. Lord, Lord, I should be entering Heaven!!"

Jesus Christ will look with unfathomable sadness, as He says something like this: "Yes, Mother Teresa, you did all these commendable things. But, you were not true to My Gospel, to My teachings, that I was the only way to Heaven. You confirmed people's belief in all their false gods, all of whom were inspired by Satan. You could have turned many to the absolute truth of the Gospel, and to Me. But, you did not. Therefore, I never knew you, because you worked iniquity through your false teachings."

We have examined Mother Teresa through the only manner in which Jesus Christ instructed us we might: by examining her "fruits" which her life produced. Jesus said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." [Matthew 7:17-20]

Certainly, confirming pagans in their false belief does them no favor, but actually does them great harm. Unfortunately, Mother Teresa has done exactly this type of spiritual harm. Instead of turning tens of thousands, or millions, of people from their false pagan beliefs, to the True God, Jesus Christ, through Whom they would have been saved, Mother Teresa has simply made their false belief stronger, and has helped these poor souls into Hell.

The final point is that the life and death of Mother Teresa is another example of the spiritual apostasy of the church in these last days. We learn, in 2 Thessalonians 2, that the coming of Antichrist cannot occur until the church abandons its position of Truth, and moves far away from Biblical Truth. In Matthew 24, Jesus warned, three times, that the End of the Age, the Kingdom of Antichrist, would be brought in amidst unparalleled spiritual deception.

Do not be deceived: the End of the Age, and the appearance of Antichrist, is very, very close. Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but have been very lukewarm in your spiritual walk with Him, you need to immediately ask Him for forgiveness and for renewal. He will instantly forgive you, and fill your heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Then, you need to begin a daily walk of prayer and personal Bible Study.

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, but have come to realize His reality and the approaching End of the Age, and want to accept His FREE Gift of Eternal Life, you can also do so now, in the privacy of your home. Once you accept Him as Savior, you are spiritually Born Again, and are as assured of Heaven as if you were already there. Then, you can rest assured that the Kingdom of Antichrist will not touch you spiritually. If you would like to become Born Again, turn to our Salvation Page now.

We hope you have been blessed by this ministry, which seeks to educate and warn people, so that they can see the coming New World Order -- Kingdom of Antichrist -- in their daily news.

God bless you.
