"Just As In The Days of Noah And Sodom"

1) Luke 17:25-30 -- Jesus said that the conditions of the world prior to His return shall be just like the days of Noah before the Flood and just like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah just before God rained down fire and brimstone. What were some of these attitudes of these people?

[a] Everything about their society seemed so normal. People were buying and selling, marrying and giving in marriage, and eating and drinking. Everything seemed so normal that no one could ever believe that God's Judgment was about to rain down upon them.

[b] We know that, in Sodom, sexual immorality was absolutely rampant. Everyone thinks of the sexual sin being that of homosexuality, as indeed it was, but we can see that heterosexual immorality was also prevalent, else Lot would not have even thought of sending his daughters out to the men, so they could be satisfied with them, rather than wanting the angels. In this latter regard, we believe that our society today is very close to this open sex that causes none of its participants any shame.

2) 2 Timothy 3:1-3 -- "... in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good ..." (Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

While I am sure you can recognize much of American society within this Scripture, I want to focus on the one word, "incontinent", used in the above Scripture. The dictionary defines "incontinent" as being "wild", "uninhibited", "wanton", and "lacking in moral restraint". Certainly, this applies greatly and accurately to our society today, including many of our teens.

Now, let us consider the news story which forms the basis of our article.

NEWS BRIEF: "Oral and anal sex increasing among teens", Yahoo News, May 9, 2006

"NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - During the past decade, there has been a significant increase in the proportion of teenagers and young adults engaging in oral sex and, less commonly, having anal intercourse, according to data from STD clinics in Baltimore, Maryland ... a few national surveys conducted recently have suggested that oral sex may be a behavior that teenagers are increasingly participating in. For example, in the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth, most teenagers reported having oral sex and many had not had intercourse."

We can "thank" President Bill Clinton for stimulating this kind of behavior amongst our impressionable teens and pre-teens. Remember his impeachment trial for having oral sex with Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office of the White House? During that entire affair, Bill insisted that oral sex was not real sex, and it is obvious that many, many young people listened to his arguments and decided that he was correct -- that, for them, oral sex was not real sex, so they could participate in it and not be having sex because they were refraining from actual intercourse. I bet this belief is shockingly high amongst Christian youth.

Sadly, Jesus will one day inform these people, in the spirit of His warning of Matthew 7:20-23, that oral sex is, indeed, real sex, for our Savior warned:

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matt 5:27-28; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

Since both the man and woman in oral sex experiences sexual lust, they are both guilty of adultery! Having sex outside of marriage causes the sin of adultery to occur in God's sight, so when He warns that just having sexual lust within the heart is adultery, I think this sinful and adulterous generation ought to really and truly take notice!

Now, let us return to this news article.

"In examining the 1994 medical records of 2,598 12- to 25-year olds, and the 2004 medical records of 6,438 subjects of the same age, attending STD clinics in Baltimore, Erbelding and colleagues found that over the 10-year period the prevalence of self-reported oral sex in the previous 90 days doubled among males (from 16 percent to 32 percent) and more than doubled among females (from 14 percent to 38 percent) ... There may be a general feeling out there that oral sex is safer than intercourse, Erbelding said, and it probably is for some diseases. However, Erbelding emphasized that oral and anal sex may result in the transmission of STDs that will not be detected in urine tests. 'A urine test is not going to pick up gonorrhea or Chlamydia that might have been acquired through rectal or oral sex, with gonorrhea being the more significant infection for oral sex'." (Ibid.)

Now, consider the actions of one assistant high school principle.

NEWS BRIEF: "Asst. Principal Accused Of Telling Student To Videotape Sex', WFTV News, May 9, 2006

"DELAND, Fla. -- Prosecutors say an assistant principal at DeLand High School tried to get a student to videotape herself having sex. The state attorney said Tyrone Tinsley also asked two girls to have sex with each other. When students at DeLand High School get into trouble, they have to see the assistant principal in charge of discipline. According to charging paperwork, a trip to Tinsley's office could get you much more than detention.

"... According to prosecutors, when a student spoke to Tinsley about a bad break up, he asked her "if she ever taped herself having sex with her boyfriend" and told her to try it 'so he could watch the tape'. Prosecutor also wrote that he asked that same teen and another girl 'if they would get together with each other'."

Whenever someone in trusted authority like this assistant principal are encouraging young people to have sex and to tape such sex so he could watch it, you know our society is in deep trouble. I have generally come to understand that, for every person caught, many others are doing it and not getting caught.

Furthermore, whenever a person in authority acts in this manner, that person is signaling to his pupils that such behavior is not wrong, thus encouraging them to sin. Such is the state of American society today, encouraged mightily by TV and movies.

However, this type of activity has been occurring for a very long time. In 1967, Ann Landers posted her "Teenage Sex Test", so let us review it in light of this currently sad moral situation in America today.

4. Ever been kissed while in a reclining position? (2 points)

7. Ever said 'I love you', to more than one person in the same month? (4 points)

8. Ever made a member of the opposite sex cry? (3 points)

9. Has a member of the opposite sex ever made you cry? (3 points)

10. Ever removed some of your clothes while making out? (5 points)

11. Ever removed all your clothes while making out? (7 points)

12. Ever gone all the way? (8 points)

13. Ever had an abortion or been responsible for one? (10 points)

14. Ever been picked up by someone you have never seen before? (7 points)

15. Ever had sex with someone you just met? (10 points)

16. Ever lied to your parents about where you have been or with whom? (6 points)

17. Do you smoke? (2 points)

18. Do you drink? (3 points)

19. Ever taken 'downers', 'uppers', or both? (7 points)

20. Ever smoked pot? (4 points)

21. Ever tripped on LSD? (8 points)

22. Ever done cocaine or shot up speed or heroin? (10 points)

23. Ever had sex without any birth control precautions? (9 points)

24. Ever woke up and not remembered where you were or what you did? (8 points)

25. Ever been busted for possession of drugs? (10 points)

Score Chart:

7 or under -- Innocent and unaware

8-15 -- Pure as the driven snow

15-25 -- Normal and decent

25-30 -- Passionate and headed for trouble

30-45 -- In trouble and getting messed up

45-55 -- Messed up but salvageable

55 and over -- Condemned"

Condemned. Most young people today would not find many of these actions considered evil in 1967 to be evil in 2006.

However, God's commandments are not subject to popular opinion, or to declining societal standards! As God warned: "For I am the LORD, I change not." (Mal 3:6; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

What made God angry and excited His judgments 3,600 years ago, makes Him angry and will excite His judgment today!

When God destroys the Mighty Babylon nation in Revelation 18, He tells His Christians something which is very, very interesting and shocking. He says:

"Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her (vs 8) ... Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her." (vs 20) (Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

Too many people believe that God has only one dimension: Unlimited Love. Therefore, according to this terribly wrong doctrine, God will allow everyone into Heaven at the very end. This wrong-headed doctrine concludes that God loves us too much to punish us for eternity; after all is said and done, God will allow everyone to enter Heaven and enjoy it for eternity.

Such people totally disregard much Biblical doctrine that God has many attributes, one of which is unlimited Love. However, God also possesses unlimited anger over sin, unlimited sense of Justice, and unlimited power to punish. You will discover, if you look objectively, that God not only CAN punish for sin, but that He plans to do so in the 7-year period called The Tribulation Period. God succinctly states that He will destroy all sinners from the face of the earth! Read carefully, below:

"Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity ..." (Isaiah 13:9-11; Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

God says He shall destroy the sinners out of the world! Then, He says that He shall shut off the light of the stars and of the Sun, making this a parallel passage with Jesus' End of the Age prophecies in Matthew 24. Then, God concludes that He will punish the world for its evil and the wicked people for their iniquity. These are terrible words, but words that every person who is not Born Again through Jesus Christ had better take to heart, while there is still time to repent.

Then, in verse 12, "I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir." The main characteristic that makes gold precious in the sight of man is that it is not commonly found; it is rare. This is the meaning here. God is going to destroy so many people that those still living will be rare enough to be considered "rare as gold".

God's warning to the nations of the world who disregard His commandments rings so true today.

"But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD." (Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary)

These words, "utterly pluck up and destroy" literally paint the picture of a gardener who plucks up a plant by grasping it close to the ground, and pulling it upward, so that all the roots come with the plant. Of course, this action totally destroys the plant. This is what God will do to any nation whose individuals willfully disregard His commands.

God help us! Paul's prophecy of 2 Timothy 3:1-4, describing the values and attitudes of the people during the Last Days, reads like today's newspaper in any place in America today, and are certainly reflected in this Teenage Sex Test. As you read stories like this about people's values and attitudes, lift up your eyes, for your Redeemer is nigh!!

Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.
